Chapter 1808: Reaching the Border of the Verdant Abyss… Again…

Overtaking the weaker cultivators who still found themselves just barely staying ahead of the horde of demon beast chasing them from behind, Xuan Hao understood immediately that there was no way any of them escaped from the Verdant Abyss alive. All they were doing was delay the inevitable, as there was no way the Star Creation Realm demon beast would ignore them when it caught up.

Even in the best-case scenario where the Star Creation Realm demon beast ignored them, it would likely still influence them to some extent. Allowing the demon beasts just behind them to catch up and overwhelm them. After all, the overall strength of the weaker cultivators mostly ranged between the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm to the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm. Far from enough to put up any meaningful resistance in the face of the Land Creation Realm demon beasts that were chasing them. Especially considering most had already burnt through most of their qi and lifespan for the ability to even outrun those demon beasts in the first place.

Although he felt bad about this given that he was the main cause of the demon beast stampede that had now begun sweeping through the Verdant Abyss, he hadn’t created it willingly and had only done so by accident while trying to escape.

One positive thing about the entire situation was that he himself didn’t seem to have been suspected as the one behind the demon beast stampede. Instead, the blame of the entire situation seemed to have fallen entirely on the Land Creation Realm cultivator who had chased him down in the past…

Whoosh~

Now fast enough to catch up with the group of escaping Land Creation Realm cultivators and others with equally powerful escape measures, it didn’t take long for him to catch up with those at the very back of the group… And though the few at the back of the group were rather surprised seeing someone new emerging from the group of weaker cultivators, they didn’t think too much about it, as most of those in the back were below the Land Creation Realm and relied on different treasures and artifacts to reach their current speed.

In their eyes, Xuan Hao was just someone who had been unwilling to use his trump card for escaping but had ultimately been forced to use it in the end after delaying for a few seconds.

Knowing the thoughts of everyone around him and that his current speed would be more than enough for him to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss before the Star Creation Realm demon beast could catch up, Xuan Hao decided to not use the full strength of his Illusory Light Steps. Instead, he decided to place himself somewhere in the middle of the group of close to thirty people to avoid any unwanted attention.

His placement still drew some attention, but with his Late Stage Sea Formation Realm cultivation realm obvious, it just boiled down to those around him either thinking he was lucky to have gotten his hands on a precious artifact for escaping or that a senior from the major power he belonged to had lent him a precious artifact. The latter being far more likely in the eyes of those around him, as only a major power with at least someone in the Land Creation Realm could realistically nurture a Sea Formation Realm cultivator that they themselves had never heard about or seen before.

At the end, outside of a certain Land Creation Realm cultivator who was currently getting the death stare from several Land Creation Realm cultivators nearby, no one was particularly interested in Xuan Hao or his identity. Only briefly giving him a glance before their focus returned to escaping.

Like this, somewhat different from the desperate struggle to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss that Xuan Hao had personally imagined would take place never happened, as over the next eight hours, he soon found himself once again spotting the towering formation symbols representing the edge of the Verdant forming a towering wall in the distance.

The Star Creation Realm demon beast that he had originally feared might use some kind of secret technique to increase its speed so it would be able to catch up with them didn’t happen either, as only the weaker cultivators still barely holding on were at any real risk of being caught by the Star Creation Realm demon beast, as they still needed at least 16 hours to reach the border of the Verdant Abyss, while the Star Creation Realm demon beast would only need another hour to reach them with its current speed.

A pity… But there isn’t really anything I can do about a demon beast that powerful. Fortunately, it seems like those ahead were at least informed to evacuate early. Preventing more people from being dragged into this situation…

Thinking this to himself as he looked back in the direction where the terrifying presence of the Star Creation Realm demon beast could clearly be felt rapidly approaching from, Xuan Hao shook his head with a look of pity in his eyes thinking about the group of cultivators he had ended up dragging to their death by complete accident.

If he was stronger, he might have stepped in to help them. Unfortunately, he was far from strong enough to face a demon beast in the Star Creation Realm.

The best he could do now was leave the Verdant Abyss as fast as possible and escape before anyone other than a certain Land Creation Realm cultivator became suspicious of him.

Maybe more importantly than that, he still had to go and save his second disciple, as it had by now been over eight hours since he had contacted him for help.

Although he had no idea about the exact state of this disciple of his, he understood that it should be far from safe and therefore planned to head back towards the Eastern Central Region immediately without wasting any time.

At least the safety measures he had put in place before allowing this disciple to go off exploring on his own hadn’t been triggered. Meaning that the danger he was involved in hadn’t yet grown to-

“Hm?”

Scrap that, he just sensed the defensive measure he had left behind in his disciple being triggered…
