Child of Destiny - Chapter 1934
Chapter 1934: Brewing Danger
…
As the concert went on, the audience became more amazed by everyone from the One Day Diary. They also became much crazier the more the band performed. They either became fan girls or fan boys of the band.
The band not only showcased their talents in music but also their versatility. Aside from the funk and rock ‘n roll theme from the first few songs, the band had also performed a lot of songs from different genres and styles.
They showed everyone that they could perform any style. Starting from classical music, ballad, jazz, up to hip-hop, R&B (rhythm and blues), pop, and many more.
This One Day Diary was so versatile that it amazed even some of the well-known idols and celebrities who were attending this concert.
This group of young performers was not only talented, but they were also stars shining bright in the sky.
Aside from their talent in instruments, the others had also showcased their amazingness in other areas.
There were solo performances from everyone, highlighting their skills.
During the segments that the others needed to rest, there were some intermission numbers from special guests who were also invited to perform along with them. These idols and celebrities were quite famous as well, but they were all overshadowed by this band of youngsters.
Leonard was among those who performed very well, showcasing his talent in this area and his experience as a young street performer.
The saxophone solos that he performed captivated the hearts of everyone.
Aside from him, there was also Jilian, who paired with some guests. She showed everyone how good a harpist she was during her performances.
Then there was Cloe, who also performed quite a lot during this concert. She also had some solo performances that showcased her talent while also performing a sonata with Shin.
She was indeed a rare talent when it came to playing the violin, instantly making her a star.
But if there was someone who shocked everyone in the audience, then it was without a doubt Shin. This individual had demonstrated to everyone his versatility and the depth of talent he possessed in these areas.
Aside from singing, which instantly made him the center of attention for everyone and even tempted all the entertainment companies paying attention to this concert, he had also showcased his other musical talents.
He truly lived up to his name as Mr. All-Rounder of the band.
He had basically performed in every segment of the concert. Aside from performing alongside the band, he had also performed a duet with Alice that captivated the hearts of everyone and some solos that instantly made all the girls in the audience crazy for him.
The violin sonata that he had performed alongside Cloe was so heavenly that everyone forgot about anything else and solely focused on them.
There was also a dance performance that he had with Cloe while they were acting as background dancers while Alice was singing one of her most famous songs.
He, in a gentleman’s attire while dancing, was so stunning that every girl had fallen in love with him.
That was also when everyone realized that not only could they feel the emotions of the song through singing, but also during a dance performance as well.
Everyone felt that this handsome young man was such a monster when it came to this area.
Little did they know that Shin had done more than just these.
There were some strange arrangements to most of Alice’s songs that caught everyone a bit off-guard. After all, most of the audience were singing along with her for these famous songs.
The strange part was that these songs sounded much better than the original versions, making them much more perfect during the performance.
Dissatisfied with Shin’s performance, Arthur could not help but complain and throw three tantrums. He felt that Shin was stealing all the thunder during the concert. It even made it look like it was his concert rather than Alice and the One Day Diary Band.
Due to this, he had dragged Leonard to perform a few dances during the intermission segments, shamelessly joining some idols.
It was not in the plan, but everyone could not do anything about it since Arthur was so determined about this.
Fortunately, he did not make a mess for everyone during their impromptu performance. This guy had used his ‘Foresight’ Talent to keep up with everyone during those intermission numbers.
This guy sure had a creative mind when it came to things that he determined to do. Using his special talent to show off on the stage was truly creative of him.
Leonard was also able to perform quite well and avoid committing any mistakes. Fortunately, he was a Martial Artist with amazing instincts and reflexes, which gave him the ability to keep up with everyone during those performances.
…
While the concert was still ongoing, quite a few people, who were thinking of creating trouble among the crowd, were getting a bit impatient.
They had been looking for opportunities to make their move. Unfortunately, they suddenly realized that they all had been marked by the guards and the drones in the air.
Not only this, but they had also realized that there were even stronger people overseeing everything from above.
When they were about to make their move, their superiors suddenly called off the operation, confusing them. It was only when they heard that the Sun-Moon Government had dispatched two peak Domain Realm Experts that they understood everything.
Aside from the issue of having too many innocents going to be involved, the other reason they backed off was these scary experts that the local government had sent.
“Tsk! Tsk! Such bad luck! Why the heck are those from the Sun-Moon Government dispatching such experts to a mere concert?” complained one of the experts that the Lufus Weapon Arms Group had sent for this operation.
“It is most likely because of the deal that they have made with the Flying Dragon Corporation and the Springfield Family,” replied another, seemingly understanding the situation.
“Whatever that deal is about, it must be very important,” he added.
Another captain also met up with them and chimed in. “Our order from the higher-ups is just to make a disturbance somewhere and make sure that one side his occupied while our sponsors are making their preparations.”
“Messing with these kinds is just one of the few extras among the job that our boss has asked us to do. If we have the opportunity, then we will pull the trigger. But if there are no openings, then we have to forget about it,” he added as he sat on the nearby sofa.
“But that does not matter. We still have plenty of opportunities later. After all, the situation is a bit too chaotic. Fishing over troubled waters is our specialty,” said the first captain.
The three of them were currently in a nearby hotel, regrouping here after their superiors pulled off the earlier operation at the concert.
“I heard that they have already caught the ‘scent’ of the location where the deal would be taking place? Are we moving there now?” asked the second guy.
“No,” the third person shook his head as he added. “They think that it is only a decoy to confuse everyone. We are to stay here and wait for any development that may arise later.”
…
At the same time, somewhere in another major city of the Sun-Moon Continent, Shiella was acting alongside the plan that they had prepared.
She was waiting in a safehouse while skimming through all the reports that were flooding her way.
“Logi Harbor?” she mumbled while reading the report that came in just now. “That is the complete opposite of the Sun-Moon City.”
She squinted her eyes, finding the situation quite suspicious. She tapped her finger on the tap rhythmically while the gears of her brain worked overdrive.
Her combat talent, the ‘Prudent Ace’ Talent, was being used to the fullest to analyze the entirety of the situation and look for any gaps in the plan.
She compiled all the information that they had gotten and put it together while also simulating all the scenarios inside her head.
Not long after, her expression suddenly turned stiff, and she immediately contacted Dayna and Elijah at the same time.
Right after the call connected, she immediately said with a heavy tone. “Make your preparations, something big may happen there.”
The two immediately realized the gravity of the situation after hearing the grave tone from Shiella.
[What’s the problem? We have already pushed those pests from Lufus Weapon Arms Group and their mercenaries with the help of the Sun-Moon Government.] said Dayna.
“It is not them. It is the World Government and the Black Serpent Mafia,” she replied before quickly adding with a heavy tone. “If my analysis is right, then the Black Serpent Mafia must be doing a separate operation nearby, while the World Government must have sniffed their movements.”
[I understand,] nodded Elijah before asking. [How about the trade on the other side?]
Shiella did not immediately reply as she thought about a few scenarios before continuing. “We are still not sure if it is a decoy they have laid or not.”
“But we can’t just ignore them completely just because of it. After all, it is too real for it to be just a decoy. However, we also can’t overlook the possibility that they are using multiple reverse psychology techniques to trick us.”
She then immediately added. “But I am sure that they must be doing something near you. I still can’t put my finger on what exactly they are planning, but it must be something big given the clues that are laid on the table.”
She was not sure what exactly was looming around the Sun-Moon City, but she could tell that it must be a big storm.
