Chapter 593: Understanding Wives are the Best
Nikolai stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his newly purchased Italian luxury suit. His black silk coat with a long fishtail fit crisply against his soft white shirt and red tie, giving him a bright, yet not overly serious look.
‘Well, everything is working in my favour.’
He spent the entire night resting while going through the documents needed to purchase the land and storefronts from the people who fled the southern sector of the city. Because there were laws against the amount of property one person could own. But Nikolai avoided this issue by purchasing them in the names of his wives.
‘Though if not for having dozens of our clan members working secretly in the government, even that would have been difficult.’
“You look quite dashing, my dear husband.”
“It makes me just want to eat you up.”
A sultry eastern accent entered his left and right ears simultaneously, as two beautiful blonde foxy beauties appeared in the mirror.
The two women with sharp eyes, sharp-tipped noses and smooth skin grinned at him in the mirror, both of them carrying a mature, sensual beauty that few could pull off.
‘She looks fired up today.’
Nikolai’s eyes enjoyed the sight, glancing between the two identical women, both of whom wore a cherry red and light pink kimono, with a faint natural makeup and a silky peach lip gloss that shimmered in the light.
“Do I look beautiful?”
“Am I pretty?”
Their voices, like dual ASMR, intoxicated Nikolai with pleasant sound waves that triggered positive dopamine and other chemicals to flood his breath.
“Mwah~”
Kumiko leaned close on both sides and gently puckered her lips and kissed the tip of his ear with a wet smack for two seconds, then pulled away with a shy giggle.
The second clone shimmered, becoming smoke as the graceful fox hugged his back. “I can’t remember when we’ve had time like this before. Hehe.” Her delighted voice resembled a faint bell as she clung to his suit, sniffing with her little nose.
“What are you doing, Kumiko?”
“You smell so good, honey~ let me stay like this a little longer.”
He shrugged. “My wives are all perverts.”
“Hmph~ I just like the way you smell, how am I a pervert!?”
“Yeah, yeah… what about Amphitrite?”
After he got injured, surprisingly, Nikita came to him and slept beside him, insisting that she didn’t need a date, just to sleep with her and play with their girls.
‘My girls are so cute~’ Nikolai’s mind wandered to Viktoria and Dhalia, both clinging to his fingers while making adorable sounds that he insisted were them calling him “dad”, but Nikita was having none of that and quickly beat him up.
‘Elizabeth seems to prefer her mother, how sad.’
‘Your father is so sad, Elizabeth!’
“Hello~ are you there, if not I’ll kiss you again~” Kumiko’s big golden eyes appeared in his gaze the moment he snapped out of his previous state. The foxy wife of his stepped on his toes, to reach his height.
“The way you curl those lips makes me want to… Mmph!”
Kumiko didn’t play his game and kissed his lips with a cute flick of the tongue, swiping across them before she hopped back.
“Ehehe~ what does it make you want?”
She twirled and tried to escape, but because of her state, she couldn’t run, and he easily caught her.
“You’re playing with fire, fox!”
“Kyaaaa~”
Nikolai wrapped his arms around her waist, enjoying the softness. Her heat spread quickly the moment he pulled her close. “Today, what do you want to do?” Their date wouldn’t start for a while, so he enjoyed this little flirting session.
‘It’s really the quiet moments that make things worthwhile.’
Suddenly, Kumiko’s eyes widened as she gasped. “Ah!”
“What’s up?”
He nuzzled against her neck, enjoying the scent of her perfume.
“I told Amphi that I would bring you downstairs~ she’s probably waiting in her cute outfit already!”
Nikolai paused, lifting his brows at this cheeky little fox, but then sighed. Who could blame her for being his wife?
“…That explains the sudden urgency.”
Kumiko puffed her cheeks, tail swishing behind her. “You’re late already~ and you shouldn’t keep pregnant women waiting, you know.”
“I seem to remember you distracting me,” he replied dryly, straightening his tie once more.
She giggled and slipped her arm through his. “That’s part of my charm.”

Together they stepped out into the hallway, the quiet luxury of the Volkov residence already something normal for Nikolai. He once found these expensive decorations, gold murals and paintings from generations ago a little daunting.
Now, they were just part of the background of his life.
As they descended the stairs, the soft voices of the maids grew louder. Light footsteps echoed across marble, mixed with hushed laughter and the faint clink of porcelain.
The household was awake and starting a new day.
Maids and chefs worked harder than usual because his wives became ravenous for food during their pregnancies. Yet they worked hard to contain their noise to avoid disturbing the peaceful state of the mansion.
Kumiko clung to his arm, her movements slower than usual as she slapped his hips with her tail teasingly. “Everyone’s so busy today~ I wonder if it’s because of Zara.”
‘Zara…’
That name made Nikolai nervous, his next big task.
Somehow, he felt a never-ending series of dangers enjoyed throwing themselves at him.
“Probably.” Nikolai offered a weak smile to his curious wife; she probably knew, but because of his hospitalisation, this was likely her way of offering help and teaching him about the events happening around the mansion.
“Sister Selene organised most of it though, hehe,” Kumiko added with a teasing grin. “She’s become so gentle and kind recently.”
‘Selene, gentle?!’
Well, after he gave her a child… no, even before that. He remembered that once he warned them not to fight and play stupid faction games to win his attention. Selene was the first woman to accept them and work to create a more harmonious atmosphere.
‘A good wife. No, wait a minute, are any of my wives not amazing?’
Sure, they might have a few issues, but those issues were part of the deal.
He wasn’t perfect either.
Just look at the number of women he had.
“Oh my~ look at her!” Kumiko said with a high-pitched squeak.
At the bottom of the stairs, near the expansive arched windows overlooking the inner garden, Amphitrite stood waiting.
‘Whoa.’
Amphitrite wore a long, flowing, soft ivory and pale blue dress, with the fabric cut to drape loosely over her body without clinging to her stomach and chest.
Long slits along her sides revealed alluring glimpses of her blue-scaled legs and abdomen each time she shifted her weight. A thin sash rested between her chest, gently accommodating her widened hips and the faint curve of her belly.
“N-Nikolai?!” Amphitrite said with her mouth open wide, and her big eyes fluttering.
Her pink hair was half tied, half free, strands falling across her cheeks down to her shoulders, and it framed her face delicately. The blue scales along her cheeks shimmered faintly, contrasting with her smooth skin.
She glanced at him with her soft blue eyes as if stunned.
“… So handsome.”
She resembled a serene ocean in the morning, after the tide spread.
When she noticed them, her posture straightened slightly, and she instinctively moved to rest over her abdomen with both lips curved into a soft smile.
“You’re quite late, this lady has been here for quite some time!” she hummed.
Kumiko winked at her sister, immediately waving her hand. “Fufu~ not his fault, forgive me, sister Amphi!”
Nikolai glanced at his wife and snorted. “That’s the first honest thing you’ve done today.”
“Hmph.”
Amphitrite crept closer with elegant, steady steps and stopped in front of him with her big eyes scanning his body. “Really, you look great.” She tilted her head, reaching out and sliding her delicate fingers along his neckline. “It suits you,” she said. “Very much.”
Nikolai watched Amphitrite’s face, the way her lips shifted, pressed together and parted with her fast breaths. “Thanks, babe.” He offered his right hand while letting Kumiko take his left. The mermaid and fox didn’t seem to complain, both taking his arms with a smile.
“So where are we going today?”
“I wanted to ask too.”
‘These women, they are doing it on purpose, right?’
One leaned against his chest, her sweet scent filling his nostrils, while the other, tall and leaning close to his face, pressed against his cheek.
For a moment, none of them spoke or moved—a pleasant atmosphere filled with a calm warmth that spread through three people.
A maid approached quietly, bowing. “Master Nikolai, the car is ready.”
He nodded with a wink while stroking both women’s backs, realising the two enjoyed this moment of reflection. “Good, give us a minute.”
The maid bowed, then scurried off while blushing.
Kumiko released his arm and moved to Amphitrite’s side, linking arms with her instead. “See? I told you he’d wear something nice.”
“Kuku, I’m the one who left the leaflet on his desk, thank your sister!” Amphitrite chuckled while the two ladies walked slightly ahead, both glancing back with slightly pink cheeks each time they met Nikolai’s gaze.
Nikolai watched them, the sight settling something deep in his chest—two women, both carrying his children and still working together to trick and seduce him.
‘This is really my life now, how great.’
He stepped forward, placing a hand over Amphitrite’s smooth hips, the soft squish of her body delightful to touch, while Kumiko took advantage and pressed her butt against his left side, humming happily when he squeezed.
“Are you ready, girls?”
“Hmph~ who is a girl, look at these hips!”
“Kuku, you tell him, sister. Let’s not give this bad guy a free ride tonight. Lest we carry another child!”
‘Women…’
