Capítulo 591: The Sultry Tiger makes a visit!
Nikolai leaned back in the quiet room, although the passionate moment with Sarah almost culminated and rectified on the spot. He held himself back, realising their emotions needed to settle.
He believed that sometimes just passion alone couldn’t create the optimal ending.
‘Though her kiss was quite feisty.’
The quiet medical room echoed with the bleep of machines, and the hiss of the dehumidifier built into the bed. Nikolai closed his eyes, listening to their little melodic noises, creating an image in his mind.
Memories of hell lingered in his mind whenever he lost focus.
The flesh towers, which extended towards the sky, were covered in twisted faces and oozing with blood from those who fell inside them. Nikolai’s fingers twitched, tapping the bed as he continued to linger in that twisted world.
.
.
.
How long had passed?
Nikolai’s dry eyes opened slowly, revealing the brilliant white room and the same bleeping machines. Yet something felt off, and he sniffed the air only to find a familiar scent; the wisps came from behind him.
“Who’s there?”
He turned around, pushing himself off the bedding. His body bounced two metres high as the woman came into his sight. Her familiar messy black hair pulled back into a ponytail revealed her sharp, gorgeous features, and the beauty spot beneath her sharp phoenix eyes revealed her identity.
“M-Madoka?”
“Mm, so you didn’t forget me?” Her nose flared as she snorted.
Thunk!
Nikolai landed back on the bed, bouncing several times, and just stared at her.
Madoka stepped closer with a casual flick of her hips. Her soft, curvy buttocks came into view as she turned to the side and lifted her right leg to slide onto the bed.
With a smile, she leaned back against the headboard, a white and black tail fluttering behind her as her throat sounded with a purr. Madoka’s peasant scent wafted from her subtle movements, carrying a different flavour from their passionate night together.
‘Her scent has changed.’
There were only two reasons this would happen to those who carried monster blood, and it wasn’t the first reason.
The pair looked at each other; he almost felt a sense of déjà vu after meeting Sarah, now Madoka. Somehow, it was pretty comical to Nikolai, but the atmosphere here didn’t feel like some grand romantic gesture.
“Why have you come here? While knowing we are sworn enemies after what happened?”
Nikolai didn’t lower his guard; Madoka protected herself beyond anyone he knew, her aura and emotional colours so muted that he barely noticed that she was delighted the moment he called her name.
“Foolish male.”
She huffed, lifted her legs slowly, before crossing them and closing her eyes.
“Why else would I come to see you, can’t you tell?”
‘There are too many things I can see now!’
Madoka was human the last time he met her in Londis.
However, the person who sat in front of him wasn’t.
She crossed her legs, flashing him the faint red of her undergarments, which peeked through the almost see-through black silken tights. Her lips curled into a ferocious smile, revealing two sharp fangs, as she observed him quietly.
“Well, it’s not like we split in the best situation.”
Once again, her head tilted to the side.
“Didn’t we have sex the last time we met?”
“Ah.”
Nikolai tried to forget that part; instead, he focused on fighting her in the underground, then slaughtering dozens of SSS hunters.
Her lips curled into a deeper, more aggressive smile.
“I honestly never expected that I would roll around in bed with the son of my former enemy. To think that I would also fall that low to enjoy it so much that my mind almost melted. Then all I could think about for several days was that… dangerous thing inside me.”
The switch between her sophisticated persona and the wild, feral beast happened so suddenly that Nikolai barely kept up.
“Was it that good for you?” Nikolai smirked at her while struggling to remember the bits and pieces from that night.
“Tsk! Men.” Madoka spread both her arms atop the headrest while rolling her eyes. “As if it did. It hurt like hell when you rammed that huge thing inside at first.” She glanced down at his crotch before continuing. “Slamming and pounding over and over, it felt like I was going to die, you horny little brat.”
Nikolai couldn’t blame her for this attitude. At first, she was a normal human with a tiny fraction of were-tiger blood in her body.
Nevertheless, he also remembered that after the first time, no. Even halfway through, this woman’s voice had already become passionate and filled with pleasure.
‘Should I test the waters?’
He couldn’t help but shrug his shoulders, leaning forward—a cocky grin painted across his face. The moment he changed his posture and atmosphere, Madoka’s eyes suddenly widened, pulling back.
“You were loving it soon enough, though.” He pulled down the hospital robes from his shoulders and turned to show her his back. “Your claws have left scars deep enough to prove it.”
“Y-You!?”
Madoka’s proud face flushed red as she glanced at the pale scars, then bit her lip and shifted her gaze to her claws.
“That’s enough posturing, don’t you think? We’re not children.”
After observing her movements, the way she fleetingly glanced at him, sometimes letting the aura of loneliness and frustration leak when he teased her. Nikolai no longer wanted to drag this on and cause trouble.
“You’re carrying my child, right?”
She’d contacted him via letter once, but it seemed face-to-face was still tricky.
The moment he asked, her eyes widened as she opened her mouth. Then the mature beauty watched him for several minutes before nodding.
“Mm.”
“Will you keep it?”
“O-Of course!” She hissed, her voice loud, powerful and filled with fight.
“I see.”
Nikolai didn’t know how to deal with Madoka.
Once his enemy, and a powerful one at that, if not for meeting and beating her like before. She might have chased after his father, trying to kill him because of some misguided sense of vengeance.
The two looked at each other awkwardly.
However, the faint colours of her emotions became clear, unlike Sarah, who let them bleed like LED lights. Madoka’s shimmered like dim mood lights hidden by the morning sun.
‘She’s nervous!?’
Nikolai’s lips twitched at the sight of her emotional colours.
‘The woman I once admired is carrying my child. I don’t know how to deal with this.’
“Do you…” Madoka stopped for a moment. “…Do you want me to keep it?” Like a shy, unsure girl, she peeked at Nikolai’s face, curling her lips and pouting, she slapped the bed frame with her striped tail.
‘Is she stupid!?’
“Of course I do!” He almost shouted, although some people aborted their children, and he also agreed that some situations might need such a thing. Regardless, Nikolai would never accept this, even if it was a child with a woman he didn’t hold love for.
Her pupils shrank into tiny dots as she gasped.
His shout clearly shocked her.
The emotional colours around her body rippled violently. The usual guarded layers shattered for a brief second, revealing a bright, trembling gold beneath the muted loneliness. Her tail, which had been tapping the bed frame, froze mid-air.
“…Idiot,” she whispered.
“Hm?”
Madoka looked away, cheeks flushed, fingers fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. “You… cheeky little child! You should think more before saying things like that. My heart almost jumped out of my chest.”
‘That’s my line.’
“Listen,” he said, voice calmer. “I don’t know how you lived until now, or what you were planning. But from the moment you decided to keep the child, your issues became my issues. So we have to become allies in this.”
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, eyes locking onto hers.
“It’s mine too.” His hand reached out, almost touching the faint bump of her stomach. “This is our child, and no matter the reason. I won’t run from that.”
Madoka’s lips parted slightly.
Her aura quickly flickered as the thin purple doubt thinned into a steady, confident blue.
“…Do you know what you’re saying?” She asked, almost testing him. “I’m from the opposing side, you know? The hunters. The people who spent years trying to kill your kind. I’m not your lover. Not your wife. Just a woman you slept with once and then left you behind.”
“You’re right.” He admitted it bluntly. “We were both planning to kill each other that night, but isn’t it also a unique fate that we ended up in the same bed?”
Her eye twitched. “Stinky Boy! Y-You really know how to talk.”
“But,” Nikolai continued, ignoring her playful glare, “I didn’t kill you. And look here, you’re carrying my child and still lusting over the memory of that night.”
Her cheeks turned bright red.
The fluff around her neck, tail and wrists puffed up at his words.
“Haa… stupid male,” she muttered, slapping her tail against the bedding with moist eyes. “If you keep acting like this, then I’ll…”
“What? What will you do?”
She exposed her fangs with a growl, with a glare that was half angry and embarrassed.
“I’ll… bite you to death,” she snapped, voice cracking, “and then make you take responsibility even as a ghost.”
Nikolai chuckled, leaning closer until their noses almost touched.
“Listen, I’m tired. And as much as I want to play with my new little cat. I need to rest and get on with my tasks as a leader.” Nikolai didn’t hate Madoka; instead, his admiration had become twisted from the night that he had sex. He stroked her cheek gently, enjoying her eyes focusing on his face. “Be good, and don’t cause me trouble and take care of our baby for me.”
Her tail froze mid-swing.
“…Idiot,” she breathed. “You said it, so don’t regret it.”
‘How could I regret such a blessing?’
The head of the strongest branch of the SSS became the mother of his child.
Nikolai saw a path towards the future.
One where humans, monsters and those between might find a sense of peace.
And he was determined to achieve it.
