Yu Miaomiao was furious. She truly wished she could kill Bai Meiyue then and there. That woman was the cause of her sufferings. If only she had killed her back then, then maybe she wouldn’t be the one suffering. It was all because of Bai Meiyue. That woman was the cause of this. If she were not alive, then maybe Yu Miaomiao wouldn’t have to suffer humiliation this severe.

But there was no way she was going to let these two escape. Not this time around. She raised her head and looked at the sky before pressing the one switch that she had been carrying all along. All of a sudden, as soon as Yu Miaomiao finished pressing the switch, the spy cameras that were flying in the sky swooped down in the direction where Lei Qian was hiding.

Bai Meiyue felt a dull pain in her heart when she heard Meng Suisui’s remark. Though she hoped that Lei Qian was not injured, she knew that he was injured. She was a little anxious just thinking about it.

A sharp spear was hurled from a building not far from where Yu Miaomiao was and pierced through her bosom. As soon as the blade pierced through her skin, blood splattered all over the street. Bai Meiyue watched the woman fall, and her eyes lit up with glee. It seemed like Lei Qian thought things through before making the move. She turned and looked at the building and found her elder brother standing on the roof of the building; even though he looked really shaken, his actions were quick, swift and precise.

Bai Meiyue’s eyes flickered. Since Yu Miaomiao was finally gone, she turned her attention to Bai Xue, who was thrown to one side like weeds that had been ripped out of the ground. Facing the scene where they were putting their lives at risk to kill Yu Miaomiao, and there were zombies running everywhere, Bai Xue was only worried about herself and her life. She was sitting in a corner, pulling the trash can in front of her. There was not a single shred of worry in her eyes, nor was she saddened by the loss of her mother.

Bai Meiyue watched the sight in front of her and sneered. Chu Xia was dead, so what was the point of letting this woman live? Such a heartless woman should be killed. It would be much better to kill her.

She raised her hand and made a gun gesture before aiming it at Bai Xue’s head. Her aim had never failed her, and as she raised her hand and took aim, she was certain that she was going to kill Bai Xue. Bai Meiyue unleashed an ice parasite and flicked it right at Bai Xue’s head; however, before the ice parasite could pierce through the skin of the woman, it was interrupted by Bai Feng.

He sent a flying spark and caused the ice parasite to be burnt to a crisp.

Even in the chaos, while holding the necklace that Chu Xia was wearing, he turned to look at Bai Meiyue. He could easily find her with the energy surge in the surroundings. His eyes were full of grief. Even though Chu Xia had never treated him kindly, she had given him a place and taken care of him, an illegitimate bastard, without kicking him out of the house. Her death had brought immense grief to his heart. He shook his head and told Bai Meiyue silently that she couldn’t kill Bai Xue.

But why would Bai Meiyue listen to him? And what confused her even more was why Bai Feng was still protecting Bai Xue. Could he not see how cruel and selfish this woman was? Her mother died in front of her and for her, and yet she didn’t even glance in her direction. If it were her, she would have done everything in her power to protect her mother. No, if it were her, she would have never allowed her mother to be placed in a situation where she would have to give up on her life for her, and if there was indeed a situation like that, she would rather kill herself than let her mother be placed in danger.

A woman like Bai Xue, who wouldn’t bat an eye when her mother died, was dangerous and could not be kept.

With that thought in her head, Bai Meiyue didn’t even think twice before aiming at Bai Xue again and attacking her. This time around, she condensed her water into ice needles and aimed them at the woman who was crouching in the corner.

Bai Feng roared when he saw that Bai Meiyue was not listening. He was sad and angry at the situation. He knew that Bai Meiyue blamed the Bai family for what happened to her and he understood her pain. Even though Lei Qian was a good man, Bai Meiyue was forced to give up her innocence after being betrayed by her own family. He understood her hatred, but how could he allow her to kill Bai Xue when Chu Xia made him promise at her dying breath that he would protect her daughter?
