Capítulo 739: Not Reconciled

About an hour later, the car that drove back returned and this time it made loud noises loudly and fiercely. When Meng Suisui heard the sound of the horn, she turned and looked at the window with a frown on her face. She looked outside and saw the same car driving past the street and muttered out loud, “What is that person even trying to do? Why is it making such loud noises? Isn’t he afraid of attracting the zombies?”

“I am afraid that he is trying to do just that.” Bai Meiyue didn’t even look up from the book that she was reading to her son and explained, “It seems like Yu Miaomiao has finally decided to drive past this path, and this man is simply attracting the attention of the zombies to clean up the path. With him driving these zombies away, it would be much easier for Yu Miaomiao to drive through this path.”

“Then does it mean killing her will be easier?” Meng Suisui asked with her eyes alight with happiness.

“Easy? Do you think that if it were easy to kill her, we would be here?” Bai Meiyue curled her lips and questioned back. She closed the book that she was holding in her hands and turned to look at the woman. “She has been in the army for a long time; I do not suppose that she is going to just trust Bai Feng blindly. If anything, after getting betrayed like that, she will definitely be on her guard.”

Bai Meiyue knew people like Yu Miaomiao very well. After all, she had seen many people sitting in high positions in her past life. They were wary and suspicious. And Yu Miaomiao was no different. Even if she was willing to go through this street, it didn’t mean that she was going to trust Bai Feng and his team blindly. She would certainly make Bai Feng go before her, and in case something went awry, she would turn back and retreat to her safe place. And if she returned to the safe base, then even Bai Feng might not be able to find her. It would be like a tigress returning to her forest.

And that car was supposed to be the decoy to lure the zombies away, such that Yu Miaomiao would be able to drive past this street without any trouble.

Of course, Bai Meiyue was guessing; she had no idea whether it was how she was thinking, but then again, maybe it was? At the moment, she just finished speaking in a low voice, and the second she finished speaking, the sound of the zombies going ‘ho-ho’ on the street started to echo throughout. The sound of the car driving recklessly, along with sending countless things, also echoed as the car drove past the building. In the room, Bai Meiyue and Meng Suisui peered through the window and saw a convoy galloping through the south.

At the front, there were countless survivors’ vehicles, followed by two military jeeps, and then, following them, were many camouflage armoured vehicles. And behind those vehicles, there were several high-tech cars.

It was a very long queue, no matter how one saw it.

Even though the zombies were already lured away, there were many zombies still lingering on the street. When they heard the sound of the cars driving towards them, they all turned to look at the queue of vehicles and started to walk towards them. Seeing the situation in front of them, Yu Miaomiao frowned even harder. It seemed like she was a bit too hurried. These zombies were not even cleaned up yet.

She turned to look at the rest of the convoy before turning to look at Bai Xue. “Tell your brother to clean up the street quickly or else!”

Bai Xue stiffened, and a gush of panic fluttered through his veins. She raised her head and turned to look at the window of the car, but she didn’t open it. Instead, she turned to look at the woman next to her and said, “Sister, can you at least undo these restraints on my hands? I cannot do anything with them tied around my wrists.” Bai Xue raised her hands and then showed the restraints to the woman, who was sitting next to her.

The female guard who was sitting next to Bai Xue raised her head and turned to look at Yu Miaomiao. Seeing the woman really turning to look at her, she glared at the woman and said to her, “You idiot. Are you really going to open the handcuffs of this woman? Do you want me to tell you something so simple?”

The female guard pursed her lips as if she had been wronged to death. She then turned and glared at the woman whom she was scolded by Yu Miaomiao.

Bai Xue, who was glared at, also felt wronged. She was clearly doing what Yu Miaomiao asked her to do, so why was she still being blamed? This was simply unjust!

“Open the window for her,” Yu Miaomiao commanded the idiotic female guard. “You are sitting right next to her; this is more of a smart move, don’t you think?”

The female guard complied and pressed the button on the door of the car before opening the window. Once the glass slid down, Yu Miaomiao tilted her head to one side and motioned for Bai Xue to call out to Bai Feng.

Just as Bai Xue shoved her head out of the window, Bai Meiyue narrowed her eyes, and a surge of hatred rushed through her veins. She wished she could charge at the woman and chop off her head and take her life. The hatred that the two of them shared was not something that could be washed away just like that.

Even when Bai Meiyue could see the injuries on Bai Xue’s back and face, even when she knew that the woman had suffered in the hands of Yu Miaomiao, she still couldn’t let go of the past grudges because no matter how much the woman suffered, she could never suffer as much as her son, who was ripped into pieces before he died.
