When Bai Meiyue saw how swift those raging flames were when taking over the zombies, she was pleasantly surprised. It seemed like she didn’t make the wrong decision when she chose to save Meng Suisui’s life.

‘It was certainly the right call. Look at her; she is simply a firecracker,’ praised Ciyi while watching Meng Suisui deal with the level two zombie with apparent ease. The more she looked at her, the more she was in awe. With Meng Suisui and Lei Qian working together, it didn’t take more than an hour for them to drive away from the safe zone where Yu Miaomiao was hiding. They soon arrived at the street where the high-rise building, shopping malls and tea shops were located.

Bai Meiyue looked at the tea shop where countless jars were still intact and thought of her mother, who liked having a cup of tea in the middle of the evening. Maybe she would bring a package or two for her mother; she would probably like to drink these expensive teas.

However, before collecting these teas, there was something else that was waiting for her.

After Lei Qian stopped the car, Bai Meiyue stepped out and took a look at the woman in front of her. Though Meng Suisui was tired, there was a glint in her eyes that showed she was extremely excited. When she saw Bai Meiyue, she turned to look at her and exclaimed with a childlike glee, “Yueyue, I did it. I—I awakened as a strong ability user.”

She was so excited that she took Bai Meiyue’s hands in hers in excitement and jumped up and down. “I did it… I did it.”

“Alright, you two, calm down,” said Shen Zhen as she patted Meng Suisui and reminded her that Bai Meiyue was still pregnant and couldn’t be jostled around too much. She said to Meng Suisui, “Don’t jump around too much, or else we will be in trouble. If the child decides to come early, what do you think we will do?”

Meng Suisui sheepishly stuck out her tongue and apologised, “I am sorry, Yueyue. I was just so excited that I didn’t even think about what I was doing.”

“It’s alright. I do understand your emotions.”

Bai Meiyue understood Meng Suisui’s feelings because when she first awakened, she was just as excited. It was just that she was too foolish and thought that with these abilities, she would be accepted by her father and his family. If she could, she really wished she could slap her past self in the face. How could she have such silly thoughts after she was abandoned by the Bai family? Was her head filled with water?

Bai Meiyue suppressed the old memories and said to Meng Suisui, “You should keep working hard. This way, your abilities will only get better in the future.”

When Meng Suisui heard Bai Meiyue’s response, her eyes turned red. She was really grateful to Bai Meiyue. “Thank you, Yueyue. It’s all thanks to you that I am still standing here,” said Meng Suisui with a grateful voice. She looked at Bai Meiyue with a gratified expression.

“There is no need for you to be so emotional.” Bai Meiyue felt a bit awkward. She didn’t know how to tell Meng Suisui that she just played a gamble. The reason she worked so hard to keep these two siblings alive was not that she had a deep emotional attachment to them; she was just playing a bet and hoped for it to work.
