Capítulo 732: Awakening her skills (II)
Shen Zhen rolled her eyes and scolded her lightly, “You still think you are three or four months pregnant? With a belly this big, it would be surprising if you could even walk for a few steps without feeling tired. You should start understanding your condition more and stop pushing yourself past your limits.”
Well…
Bai Meiyue recalled her past life when she was pregnant with Bai Cai. Back then, she didn’t have any nutrition, and she ate less than a mouse. With no nutrition, her belly didn’t grow much. Even when she was eight months pregnant, her belly was smaller than a four-month-pregnant belly. What was more, with her belly being smaller, she didn’t have any shortness of breath, and she was very agile, especially when she knew that there was no way she could rely on someone else. But while she was much more agile than she was in the past, she was just as weak.
Her legs often cramped due to a lack of nutrition. They ached so badly that she sometimes wanted to amputate them. After all, the pain was that excruciating.
However, in this life, her son grew up healthier than he was in her past life, which made most of her internal organs squeeze into one corner. It was because of this reason that Bai Meiyue was panting and looking tired after moving only a little bit. Though she didn’t like the fact that her breath started to swell up like she was running a marathon, she liked the fact that her legs were not cramping. Compared to the harsh pains that she suffered in the past, this was truly much better.
“You need to control your appetite,” said Shen Zhen as she eyed Bai Meiyue’s belly. “I know your pelvis is not big, and if the foetus grows more than eight or nine catties, then you will have trouble giving birth naturally. Now that the condition is like this, it will be better if you could give birth to your baby naturally. So you should try to restrain your diet a little.”
“How am I supposed to control my diet?”
It wasn’t that Bai Meiyue didn’t want to control her appetite; the truth was that she just couldn’t control it. Regardless of how petite she looked, she could easily inhale more than three bowls of rice on her own, and that was not all. She would start feeling hungry in the next three hours. If she were asked to control her appetite, Bai Meiyue was worried that she would start feeling weak. What was more, she did try to rein in her hunger and ended up feeling short of breath and anxious.
“Sigh…” Shen Zhen sighed as she looked at Bai Meiyue’s listless appearance. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel and carefully thought it over. “You are almost nine months pregnant. Starting tomorrow, I will formulate a diet plan for you. You cannot let your child’s weight outgrow your ability. If your son gets too heavy, it will be hard for you to give birth to him naturally. But we cannot starve you or your child either. Your son needs the same amount of nutrition as before, or else he will end up getting weak. In order to have a safe pregnancy, you should try to stick to the diet plan for the entire month.”
“Alright.”
As soon as Bai Meiyue heard Shen Zhen say that she was going to formulate a nutritional diet plan for her, Bai Meiyue felt helpless. She had seen the nutritional diet plans that the doctors and nurses came up with; she had been on it ever since she was sixteen. The word ‘diet’ alone made her shiver, as she knew that there was nothing good coming out of it. She had also seen the diet plan made by Shen Zhen and knew that she would strictly control the portion of the food given to pregnant women. The last time she went to visit the hospital, she saw the women eating a poor serving of noodles, and they were given only a few crackers every three hours.
They were not given any fatty meat and only chicken breast or soup with mushrooms and broccoli. Even the portion of rice was carefully monitored.
And at dinner, only soup was served.
Four hours later, they were given either juice or milk.
When Bai Meiyue thought about how this serving didn’t even add up to half of her daily serving, Bai Meiyue wanted to close her eyes and shed some tears. But she knew that what Shen Zhen said was correct. Now was the end of the world. Even if the medical equipment that she had found was well-equipped, she knew that it was better to try for a normal delivery rather than going for the C-section. That way, the chances of the child and the mother contracting the doomsday virus would be greatly reduced.
If she were to opt for the surgery, Bai Meiyue was worried that she would end up getting infected because it would include her skin being torn and stitched.
As the two of them continued to talk about the childbirth, they heard a loud bang and turned to look in the front. They saw Meng Suisuis holding what looked like a red fire that seemed to have been summoned straight from hell. Her right arm was bleeding slightly as she got up from the car, against whose windscreen she had been knocked, and stood up on the hood. Her eyes had turned blacker than the sky of midnight, and she was breathing heavily while eyeing the zombies in front of her.
“It seems like she finally found what her ability can do,” Bai Meiyue remarked as she watched Meng Suisui hurl a bunch of fireballs at the zombies; unlike Lei Qian’s fire, this one didn’t burn them; instead, it swallowed them whole. Bai Meiyue’s brows rose slightly and she looked at the raging flames with curiosity. Now, this was quite interesting.
