Bai Meiyue didn’t think there was anything extreme with the request that the little woman made to her. She pursed her lips and nodded. “But you have to promise that if I cannot help you, you will accept it without any fuss?”

Nanny An nodded in response.

Only then did Bai Meiyue take her pulse. As her fingers touched Nanny An’s wrist, Bai Meiyue was sure that she was not going to find anything worth treating. However, as she continued to study the pulse of Nanny An, Bai Meiyue’s brows started to rise higher and higher.

Bai Meiyue’s words brought new hope to Nanny An’s heart. Her eyes turned tearful, and she bowed in front of Bai Meiyue. “Thank you—”

Elina or Nanny An, didn’t know what to say or how to thank Bai Meiyue. She only knew that Bai Meiyue was her benefactor, and she had done something that no one could do.

“There is no need to thank me.” Bai Meiyue waved her hand off as she stood up from her chair. “When the time comes, you will have to pay for the antidote. It’s just a business deal; you will get what you want, and I will get what I want. No need to add any unnecessary emotions.”

Elina simply smiled upon hearing Bai Meiyue’s response. Indeed, it was nothing more than just a business deal, but what Bai Meiyue didn’t know was that she was the only one daring enough to say in the last ten years that she could treat this poison of hers. Thus, even if Bai Meiyue said that there was no need for her to get emotional, she couldn’t help it. After all, it was the first time she finally received a positive response.

Bai Meiyue turned her head away from the swimming pool at which she was staring. She looked at Lei Qian and hummed. “Did you say something to me?”

“Did I say something to you? I have been talking to you since I came into this room.” Lei Qian was speechless. He had been talking to Bai Meiyue since he came to look for her and she had been responding in ‘hmms’ and ‘ahs’, but now she was suddenly saying that she didn’t hear a thing that he said to her. Was she really serious?

Bai Meiyue rubbed her forehead before saying in a low voice, “I was just lost in thought. There is no need to get excited like this.”

“Who here is getting excited?” Lei Qian rolled his eyes at the woman. He said to her, “I just want to know what this important thing is that you are thinking about that you are not listening to a thing that I am telling you.”

“I was just thinking about how I took a few things for granted in the past.”

Bai Meiyue recalled her past life, where she didn’t cherish her son well enough and let those villains take advantage of her lack of care. She received the blessing way too easily, which was why she didn’t appreciate it. After meeting with Elina, she realised how she had taken Xiao Cai for granted.

Lei Qian parted his lips and was about to say something when Bai Zhan and Xiao Chenye came running inside. Both of them looked quite anxious.

“What’s wrong?” Bai Meiyue raised her head and turned to look at the two men who were anxiously running toward her and Lei Qian.

She reached out to take the apple from the bowl in front of her. But before she could even take a bite, she heard Bai Zhan say, “This is bad, Yueyue. Xu Yiyi and Fu Wan are fighting with one another.”

“I am really sorry about this, Miss Bai. Miss Fu lost her temper at your friend, and we cannot calm her down.”

Bai Meiyue frowned hard when she heard that Fu Wan had caused another trouble. She exchanged a look with Lei Qian and then turned to look at Xiao Chenye before saying to her, “Why did she suddenly get into a fight with Xu Yiyi? As far as I know, your great lady hardly steps out of her mansion.”

“This…this…” Xiao Chenye didn’t know where to begin. He lowered his head with shame written all over his face, as he didn’t know where to begin. He stammered for a long time, so long that the ever-patient Bai Feng lost his temper.

He glared at the man and then turned to look at Bai Meiyue before saying, “I will tell you the truth, Yueyue. It’s like this, you know that the girls under Xu Yiyi are learning work. One of them is working in the kitchen and is learning how to make drinks. The chef she is working under is a five-star chef. So, he was teaching her how to make mocktails and—”

“And?”
