Capítulo 722: The Arrogant Fool (II)

“Their fate was nothing more than just cannon fodder,” Bai Meiyue pointed out as she glanced at her elder brother. With her arm outstretched, she picked up some peanuts from the dish that was placed in front of her. She popped one in her mouth and said to her brother, “They only had one job, and that was to pave the way for Yu Miaomiao and nothing else. In fact, she didn’t even leave the safe zone until Dacheng and his team’s attention was diverted completely. Those fools, they didn’t even understand a simple tactic – the most dangerous place is the safest – and they wanted to win against Yu Miaomiao.” She rolled her eyes at the very daydream that Dacheng had and the arrogance that he was displaying at the moment.

“She is right.” Bai Jixuan was also disgusted when he thought about how Dacheng had let his arrogance ruin such a good plan. If only those idiots had thought things through, then nothing like this would have happened, and they could have dealt with Yu Miaomiao accurately. He was the one who believed that their attack was strong enough to shake Yu Miaomiao’s foundation.” Bai Jixuan shook his head and then sighed before continuing.

“Anyway, now that Yu Miaomiao has arrived at where Bai Feng is hiding, their group has separated into two halves. Yu Miaomiao had the Bai family members in her control, and she wanted nothing less than to use them to control Bai Feng. She wanted Bai Feng to clear up the safe base and even create a separate task force and become its leader. A task force that will only work for her and protect her and her alone. From what I have heard, she had directly threatened Bai Feng and told him that either he protects her or she will kill the Bai family.”

“Of course, this is just the beginning. There is more. She even wants to take over the resources that Bai Feng has at the moment, not just food supplies but also ammunition and weapons. You know that someone robbed her warehouse?”

Bai Meiyue sat up a little straighter when she heard the little remark. She looked around the room, even when she knew that no one had the slightest bit of an idea of what she did. Lei Qian, who was sitting next to her, noticed her actions and arched a brow. He knew Bai Meiyue long enough to know that she was hiding something from him and the rest.

Lei Qian, however, didn’t question her. Instead, he turned to look at Bai Jixuan and said to him, “There is no way this is just temporary. If Bai Feng agreed once, then Yu Miaomiao would definitely not let go of the Bai Family. With them as her hostages, she could easily get what she wanted. Why would she even bother to release them? Currently, Yu Miaomiao’s foothold is not strong enough, but with Bai Feng in her team, who says that she will stay in the same position? She had gone to such lengths, all because she wanted to take control of Bai Feng. I will eat a baby bottle if she were to give up just like that.”

Bai Meiyue arched one of her brows when she heard his summary. She had to admit that what the man said was indeed correct. There was no way Yu Miaomiao would give up on the Bai family once she got what she wanted.

She then turned to look at the man, who was walking toward them and curled her lips upward. “Is that why he sent you here?”

Lu Jingguo pursed his lips and gritted his teeth in hatred. He had never thought that he would have to come begging the same person who had refused to help him. He closed his eyes and lowered his head before walking into the dining room. “It seems like you are having quite a lot of fun, Miss Bai?”

Bai Meiyue simply curled her lips and said in a soft voice, “Who said that I am enjoying this? I just wanted to question your leader on whether or not he believes that saving the Bai family was worth it or not.” She tilted her head to the side and said to Lu Jingguo, “In the past, he told me that he needed to do it, as they were his family, and he will never regret it. Is it the same?”

Lu Jingguo didn’t say anything. He didn’t know what Bai Feng was doing, and neither did he claim to know. However, whether Bai Feng regretted it or not, it didn’t matter because he certainly regretted not stopping Bai Feng from getting involved with the Bai family too much. He knew that the Bai family was troublesome, but he didn’t stop Bai Feng because he thought that they couldn’t cause him too much trouble. It seemed like he really underestimated them.

Bai Xue really changed his world views. That little woman, who didn’t even have the strength to fight zombies, actually sneaked out of the safe zone and even went to look for Yu Miaomiao, causing such trouble. He wanted to kill that woman, but he knew that there was no point in trying. Bai Feng would never allow it to happen. Since the plan was doomed to fail, Lu Jingguo didn’t even want to waste his time trying.

He raised his head and looked at Bai Meiyue before saying to her, “Are you waiting for me to tell you that you were right, Miss Bai? If that is what —”

“I do not need that,”  Bai Meiyue raised her hand and stopped the man from speaking any further. “I always knew that I was right. Why would I even bother with such silly things? Just tell me the reason for your sudden visit. Since you didn’t come here to tell me that I was right…there had to be some other reason, right? What is it?”
