At the safe base.

Master Song had been gloomy since the very day the crystal nuclei were stolen. He had lost those crystal nuclei not once but twice. His assistant suggested that he strengthen the height of the walls of the safe base as well as the warehouse. For some added security, they even added anti-theft measures to the warehouse. He thought that with so many added security features, it would be impossible for the thieves to steal his crystal nuclei, and yet somehow they managed to do it! Twice in a row.

He couldn’t even feel relieved that these thieves were not caught. Master Song wanted to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but who would have thought that before he could even come up with a solution to catch these thieves, he would end up catching the thieves in the act? The guards whom Yu Miaomiao sent to his safe base actually tried to steal from him! Master Song felt like he was surrounded by thieves left and right, and it didn’t make him feel any safer.

What he hated the most was now thieves!

When he heard that these guards tried to steal from him, he at once arranged for his own guards to catch them.

“Where are the rest?” Master Song asked as he looked at the injured guards who were kneeling in a row in front of him. He stared down at them with a serious expression on his face before turning to look at his own ability users. “I do not see them all. Where are they?”

“Most of them died while trying to escape.” One of the guards lowered his head and bowed in respect. Behind him, Master Song’s assistant stood with a stern expression. He glanced at the injured men and stated in a harsh, cold voice, “They tried to escape, and we tried to catch them at once, but when they tried to fight against us, we had no other choice but to use the harshest method to make them submit. Unfortunately, these methods included no mercy, my lord. I truly had no intention of killing them, but we had no choice at that very moment.”

His assistant spoke sombrely. He told everything that the leader and his team did while they were trying to steal from the warehouse.”

“They were trying to steal our resources and crystal nuclei, my lord. I believe we all know how difficult it is for us to collect these supplies; if they were to steal them, then we would have lost more than just supplies. We would have lost the lives of our people, and they would have died due to starvation. This is not just a theft; this is a massacre!”

“We cannot turn a blind eye to this. We just cannot let these people off because they are under Yu Miaomiao. Anyway, she had promised us a lot of things, and she had never given us anything till this date. What is the point of supporting someone like her?”

The leader of the guards couldn’t help but say, “Master Song, you have already supported us till now. Why do you not support us anymore? Anyway, you have given us enough supplies all these months. What change will it make if you stop supporting us now? Is it not better to support us for a while longer, at least, than give up without seeing the end?”

“Shut up. How dare you bring up the matter of supporting you? We supported Chief Yu for so long, and what did she give us? Nothing. Do you want us to continue supporting her even when we know that she is not going to give us what we want or need? How long? For how many times? Tell us an exact day, and we will give you the supplies. Can you?”

The leader turned silent when he heard Master Song’s assistant’s questions. He knew that there was no way he could give them an exact day because where would he get the time and date when Yu Miaomiao was nowhere near close to making the antidote or vaccine for the doomsday virus? That woman was still thinking of a way to get Bai Meiyue’s child. Her mind was simply fixated on her child, and she had no other thoughts other than taking her child away.

Where would she get the energy to make the vaccines?

“Okay, there is no need to say anything anymore.” Master Song waved his hand.

Looking at the guards who were kneeling in front of him, he just couldn’t hear the word ‘thief’ anymore. When he looked at the leader of the team and the rest of his men, he thought of the four boxes of supplies that he had lost consecutively and felt his heart burn with anger. He wished he could charge right at these jerks and scratch their faces with his nails.

How dare they touch his supplies? Did they think that he could materialise the supplies out of thin air? Of course, he could not!

And that thief! He was so elusive that he couldn’t even find any trace of him, which made him very angry.

Now that these idiots had tried to steal his resources, he was not going to show even the slightest bit of mercy to them.

“Come and torture these men. Make sure that they don’t die a simple death.”

As soon as Master Song gave the order, one of the ability users stepped forward. She looked at the leader and his men before smiling at them. “You shouldn’t have done that.”

The leader looked at the woman who resembled a little pixie and smiled at her. “Do your worst.” He didn’t believe that this little woman would be able to hurt him. In fact, he looked down at Master Song for pushing this woman in the front and letting her take charge.

The little woman tilted her head to the side and grimly smiled when she noticed that the leader was looking down at her. “You shouldn’t have said that.”

And she moved.
