Chapter 636: Fu Wan: Starved the Child

Bai Meiyue stared at the woman who was throwing a tantrum despite knowing the time and situation that she was in at the moment. She truly wanted to kill Fu Wan. This woman was just too stupid. She had such a good hand, and she ruined it like this, not to mention she was even trying to harm the life of an innocent due to her stupid request. Where would they get the time to worry about cosmetic surgery when the child was suffocating?

She turned to look at Shen Zhen and said to her, “Step aside; I will deal with this matter.”

When Fu Wan saw Bai Meiyue walking over, she panicked. She thought that the woman was really going to kill her. She picked up the pillows and hurled them at Bai Meiyue; at the same time, she shrilly shouted, “Bai Meiyue! You bitch! You black-hearted bastard! You want to kill me. I am telling you that if you touch me, then Brother Wenxuan will not leave you alone. He will kill you!”

Looking at the woman who seemed to have gone crazy, Bai Meiyue simply rolled her eyes. She picked up a silver needle and said to the woman calmly, “Are you sure it’s you that he cares about? As far as I know, as long as your child is fine, young master Bai will not bother about you. Whether you live or die—do you think that he will care about you?”

Fu Wan choked. She looked at Bai Meiyue with a look of hatred in her eyes. From the gaze in her eyes, it was as if she were wishing for Bai Meiyue to die with her eyes open. Of course, Bai Meiyue didn’t take her seriously. She walked over and then inserted the silver needles at the snayinjiao point. The second the needle was inserted, Fu Wan’s pelvic muscles relaxed a little and started to promote a better dilation.

Bai Meiyue waited for the pelvic muscles to ease a little before picking up another needle and then pushing it into the zhiyin point to shift the position of the baby. Once she was done, Fu Wan, who was screaming in pain, realised that her body had calmed down and the pain had also lessened. She raised her head and looked at Bai Meiyue, who simply wiped her hands with a wet wipe and said to Shen Zhen, “I have arranged for dried motherwort water. Feed it to her bit by bit; if she doesn’t drink it, then force it into her system.”

She then added, “And if that doesn’t work, then you can call me. I will see how she doesn’t drink it.”

With Bai Meiyue taking care of everything, Shen Zhen didn’t have to worry about anything. The entire medical staff went back to make Fu Wan push the child out, and even though Fu Wan didn’t want to follow their rhythm, she realised that she couldn’t do it. Not when the child was just inches away from coming out.

Fu Wan cried out in pain as the baby started to slip out of her cervix. And just when she felt like she was going to die as her bones started to shift, the baby slipped out, weak and thin because of the lack of care that Fu Wan had given to him for the sake of maintaining her figure. The child was thus born really small, and his cries were like a kitten mewling.

When Bai Meiyue saw the size of the baby boy, she sighed in worry and immediately arranged for a wet nurse, including a clean incubator; the child was way too small and weak to survive the doomsday virus. It was a good thing that they had not listened to Fu Wan’s request and moved the birthing procedure to the mansion, or else this child would have certainly died and become a zombie.

Bai Meiyue turned and handed the baby to Nurse Lin. She said to the woman, “Arrange an incubator for him. He is far too weak. I am afraid that if he is not taken care of, then he might turn into a zombie.”

“A what!?” Fu Wan was feeling rather weak, but she could still hear what Bai Meiyue was saying. She raised her head and looked at Bai Meiyue in shock. “How can my baby turn into a zombie?” She had been banking on this child. Only when this boy was alright would she be able to become the woman who could stand next to Bai Wenxuan legitimately. How could this child turn into a zombie?

Hearing her question, Bai Meiyue sneered. “You should be glad that Doctor Shen didn’t move the birthing station to your mansion, or else this child would not have survived the doomsday virus. Tell me, what were you thinking? Why did you starve your child and yourself? Was looking small and thin, so important for you that you put your child’s life in danger?”

Fu Wan glared at Bai Meiyue. “You don’t understand anything.”

“I truly do not understand what is going on in your head.” Bai Meiyue scoffed. “As a mother, how can you put your appearance first instead of your child? You should prioritise your child instead of anything else. But you—” She snorted before turning on her heels and heading out of the operating room.

As soon as she stepped out of the operating room, Bai Meiyue ran into Old Master Bai, who walked over and looked at her worriedly. He asked, “Is the child alright?”

“He is fine, just a bit weak.” Bai Meiyue glanced at the bodyguards who were standing behind Old Master Bai and said to them, “It seems you were not aware of the fact that Fu Wan was eating way less than he needed to eat.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Xiao Chenye stiffened, and so did the other bodyguards.

“But she told me that—that she was eating enough!”

Bai Meiyue shook her head and didn’t say anything; she simply glanced at Old Master Bai and said to him, “The baby has to stay in the incubator for a bit longer. He is too weak and might not survive the doomsday virus if taken out.”
