Chapter 635: Chapter 635: Su Jiyai’s Wish
Su Jiyai’s phone began to ring just as they were walking past a bright clothing store.
She stopped in her tracks, the soft sound of the ringtone cutting through the noise of the mall.
The internet had recovered, and slowly, the severed connection was regained. Now, the internet was mainly plagued by one question: Who was the owner of Hope Supermarket and Hope Base?
Some said it was owned by aliens, while others said that it was a mysterious base waiting for the opportunity to rise.
Others said that it was a business made by a time traveler.
The speculations had reached the peak, but the members of the Hope Base who had seen Su Jiyai’s face didn’t reveal it until they had Su Jiyai’s permission.
When Su Jiyai finally gave permission, her phone exploded, and many people tried to contact her.
As a result, she had set up a ringtone for all the important and close ones of hers and ignored the rest. Now her phone was ringing with the familiar tone she had set up for her important connections.
Qin Feng looked at her with a questioning glance, while Jacob and Qiang Zhi turned their heads curiously.
Su Jiyai took out the phone and looked at the name flashing on the screen.
The name belonged to one of her trusted researchers, the one working on reviving her mother.
Her heartbeat sped up instantly. Without wasting a moment, she pressed the answer button.
The video call connected, and the researcher’s excited face appeared.
“Boss Su! There’s progress!” he said, his voice shaking with happiness. “There’s progress in reviving your mother!”
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened. “What did you say?” she asked quickly.
The researcher grinned widely. “Her heartbeat is stronger than before! It’s faint but much steadier now!”
Hearing those words, Su Jiyai’s whole body froze.
Her heart started to pound hard in her chest. She looked at the others and said in a firm voice, “We’re going there. Right now.”
The researcher nodded eagerly. “We’ll prepare everything for your arrival.” Then he hung up the call.
Qin Feng was already on his feet, eyes filled with concern and excitement. “Did something happen?”
Su Jiyai nodded, her voice trembling slightly. “The researcher said there’s progress… My mother’s heartbeat is getting stronger.”
Jacob’s eyes instantly filled with tears of joy. His hands shook as he grabbed Su Jiyai’s shoulder.
“What did you say? Your mother’s heartbeat… it’s coming back?”
Su Jiyai nodded again. “Yes, Dad. It’s real this time.”
Jacob’s voice cracked. “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” He almost wanted to teleport there himself.
Qiang Zhi looked amazed. “Anna’s really waking up?”
Su Jiyai smiled softly, her eyes wet. “Not yet, but she’s getting closer.”
She quickly opened her system interface and said, “System, teleport us to the research lab.”
Within seconds, a soft blue light surrounded them. The scenery changed instantly.
When the light faded, they were standing in the middle of a clean, high-tech research lab.
The smell of medicine and herbs filled the air.
The researcher, a young woman wearing a white coat, hurried over to greet them.
Her face was glowing with excitement. “Boss Su, right this way!” she said, leading them to a large glass chamber.
Inside the laboratory bed lay Anna, Su Jiyai’s mother.
She looked peaceful, as if she were just sleeping. Her skin looked soft and alive again.
Her face looked almost exactly like Su Jiyai’s… the same gentle eyes, the same quiet beauty. It was hard to believe that this woman had once been corroded and lifeless.
Su Jiyai walked closer, her steps slow. Her eyes filled with emotion as she stared at her mother.
“She looks… so alive,” she whispered.
The researcher nodded. “It’s thanks to the latest potion you made, Boss Su. It’s truly working.”
Su Jiyai knelt beside the bed and placed her ear near her mother’s chest. For a second, there was silence…. then she heard it.
Thump… thump… thump…
It was weak, almost too faint to notice, but it was there. A heartbeat.
Tears welled up in her eyes and fell silently down her cheeks. She bit her lip hard to stop herself from crying loudly.
Qin Feng stepped closer and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “It’s working,” he said softly. “You did it, Jiyai.”
Su Jiyai nodded, unable to speak for a few seconds.
When she finally did, her voice came out shaky. “It’s still weak… but it means she’s fighting to come back. I just have to keep working harder.”
The researcher smiled warmly.
“You’ve done most of the work yourself. Honestly, we barely made any adjustments. The formulas you created were almost perfect from the start. It’s like you already knew everything about medicine.”
Su Jiyai looked surprised. “I don’t even know why I know all that,” she admitted quietly.
Jacob smiled and stepped forward, looking at his daughter with pride and love. “That’s because of Anna,” he said softly.
Su Jiyai blinked. “Mom?”
Jacob nodded.
“When you were little, just one or two years old, Anna used to teach you. She knew that one day you’d have to face great challenges. She didn’t want you to be unprepared. So she taught you about herbs, potions, healing methods, everything. You forgot it all when you grew up, but your subconscious still remembers. That’s why you have that natural talent.”
Su Jiyai stared at him, stunned.
“I… I see. So those dreams I kept having, the voice praising me for being smart… that was Mom?”
Jacob smiled sadly. “Yes. That was Anna. She was so proud of you even back then.”
Hearing those words, Su Jiyai felt her heart twist.
She looked at her mother again and gently held her hand.
Her fingers were warm. “I’ll bring you back,” she whispered. “No matter how long it takes, I’ll make sure you wake up.”
The others stood in silence, watching her. Even Qiang Zhi didn’t say a word. For the first time, he looked truly serious.
After a while, Su Jiyai wiped her tears and stood up.
“We’ll keep working on the potion. If we keep improving it, maybe in a year… she’ll open her eyes.”
The researcher nodded firmly. “We’ll continue without rest.”
Later that night, Su Jiyai teleported everyone back home.
Her villa stood tall and beautiful under the moonlight. It was large, surrounded by flowers and soft, glowing lamps. Robots quietly cleaned the garden and watered the plants. Inside, everything was warm and quiet… a perfect home.
Jacob and Qiang Zhi went straight to rest, still talking happily about Anna’s heartbeat.
Su Jiyai took a long shower, trying to calm down the emotions in her heart.
When she came out, wearing a soft robe, she found Qin Feng sitting on the bed. He had a book in his hands.
She smiled and walked over to him. “What are you reading?”
Qin Feng looked up, smiling gently. “Some books about machines,” he said. “I’ve been learning how to build new weapons and maybe… computers.”
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow and sat beside him. “Computers? You’ve been reading about that for months now. Are you planning to make one?”
Qin Feng chuckled.
“Yes, but not just that. I’ve also been studying spacecraft and AI systems. I’m thinking of creating something big after the apocalypse ends.”
Su Jiyai looked surprised. “You mean… a space company?”
He laughed and shook his head.
“No, not that crazy. I want to open a weapons company first. I already made several new designs, and they’re far better than anything the world has used before. I want to develop those properly when the world returns to peace.”
Su Jiyai’s eyes sparkled. “You’ve really thought this through, haven’t you?”
Qin Feng nodded.
“I don’t want to stay in the military forever. When the world becomes safe again, I’ll retire and focus on my inventions. I’ve also been thinking about developing a software system…something advanced, safer, and more human-friendly.”
Su Jiyai smiled warmly.
“That sounds like a wonderful plan. If you need help, I can give you half of my land. You can build your company there.”
Qin Feng immediately shook his head.
“No. I can’t take that from you. I’ll earn it myself. Not to mention… after the apocalypse, you might receive a huge surprise.”
Su Jiyai laughed softly. “Fine, I’ll wait for your surprise. But you better not overwork yourself.”
He smiled, looking at her with gentle eyes.
“Don’t worry. I won’t. I just want to create something good, something that can protect people and give them hope, like what you did with Hope-base.”
She blushed slightly. “You always know how to make me happy.”
Qin Feng chuckled. “Because it’s true.”
He placed the book down and looked at her seriously. “When all this ends, what do you want to do, Jiyai?”
She thought for a moment, then smiled softly.
“I want to travel. I’ve been to so many dimensions, fought so many battles… but I’ve never really explored my own world. I want to see it… every ocean, every forest, every mountain. And I want you to come with me.”
