Chapter 419: Lilith Geraldine Beaumains. The Demon Empress

A loud and clear, exhilarated laughter rang out through the lavish, medieval-style chamber, its marble floors gleaming beneath the golden light of ornate chandeliers, crimson drapes cascading from high-arched windows, and walls adorned with intricate tapestries depicting ancient conquests and celestial beings.

The laughter belonged to a beautiful woman of both regal and infernal grace. Her skin was flawlessly fair, almost luminous beneath the firelight. Long violet dreadlocked hair framed her sharp yet elegant features, and her deep crimson eyes, set against black sclera, shimmered with an unsettling allure. From her head curved a pair of long, oni-like horns, smooth and fair as her skin, while a beautiful purple symbol shaped like a kite glowed faintly upon her forehead. Her ears were sharp and pointed like an elf’s, though shorter and more refined.

She was clad in a royal blouse of deep amethyst silk, trimmed with gold filigree that caught the light whenever she moved. A black skirt, perfectly tailored, accentuated her voluptuous and devilishly commanding form, while ornate sandals of dark leather completed her ensemble, the attire of a queen who ruled not just through fear, but through irresistible presence.

Sitting across from her on a large, velvet-cushioned sofa, carved from dark mahogany and gilded with gold trims, was her beloved son, Xander Asmodeus Beaumains, the Sin of Lust himself. The flickering amber light from the chandeliers above caught the glint in his beautiful pink eyes, though the expression behind them was far less radiant than his mother’s joy.

“That was way too easy. Only Malgarath put up some resistance,” Xander muttered, leaning back with a faint frown, his voice carrying both irritation and boredom.

“Cheer up, baby boy.” Lilith’s tone was velvet and flame, indulgent yet commanding. “That’s what happens when your father is involved. He was the Demon Emperor and the First Emperor in the world for a reason.” Her faint chuckle carried a depth of memories, pride, love, and something darker, more wistful. Her crimson eyes glowed softly, their depths rippling with untold emotions.

“But…”

“No buts.” Her tone sharpened, cutting the air like silk through steel. “Now, we can make our move. Your elder brother will soon awaken fully as the Sin of Wrath. When he does, we act. We must gain your father’s acknowledgment before he faces off against that stupid, egoistic lizard.”

Xander sighed but held his tongue. His mother’s eyes had that dangerous glimmer, the kind that demanded silence.

“I wonder how strong elder brother is…” he murmured at last, a small smile tugging at his lips.

“Oh, he’s pretty strong,” Lilith replied with a smirk, brushing a strand of violet dreadlock from her face. “Though you are stronger, for now. Once he awakens fully, even I won’t dare predict his strength. Only your father could.”

The certainty in her voice made Xander’s anticipation flicker to life.

“And we have your Elaine, one of your father’s soulmates, who is nearly at her peak. She’ll fully become the Sin of Sloth by tomorrow, I can already feel it. The Sin of Pride is accounted for. What we’re missing are Greed, Gluttony, and Envy.”

“…”

“Shocked, huh? Haha!” Lilith laughed again, her voice rich and musical, reverberating through the chamber’s golden dome.

“You make it sound like it’s easy…” Xander said dryly, crossing his arms.

“Look at me,” she teased, gesturing at herself with mock vanity. “I’m a perfect example of easy.”

“I still can’t understand how you evolved again just by defeating a few weak Demon Kings,” he said, brow raised.

Lilith’s smile deepened, languid and dangerous. “Beats me too,” she purred, resting her chin against her hand. “I didn’t expect it… But I love it. Every pulse of my power feels like his… like your father’s. It’s as if his essence is whispering in my blood again.”

Her laughter softened to a sigh, one that shimmered between longing and triumph. “For the first time in centuries, I feel closer to him than ever before.”

Xander’s lips curved faintly, not in warmth, but in pride. That familiar, intoxicating confidence stirred within him, the one that came whenever his mother spoke of his father. The Demon Emperor, the being whose shadow loomed over all realms, feared, worshipped, adored. Xander could feel that legacy burning in his blood like fire, and a part of him reveled in it.

Yet behind that pride… another feeling coiled.

He leaned back, his gaze drifting upward toward the chandelier. The golden light shimmered across his pale skin, but his expression dulled, his smile fading into something more distant.

His thoughts wandered, unbidden, to his old family. The laughter of a woman he once called mother, the tiny hands of a sister clutching at his sleeve, the warmth of a small, simple home far from this gilded decadence. All gone. All burned away.

Malgarath’s name resurfaced like a stain on his soul. That demon king, the one who orchestrated it all. The same one that Lilith had slain earlier with ease, she had said. “Too easy,” he had complained. But now… he understood why it had felt hollow. Killing him hadn’t brought satisfaction, only emptiness.

Xander’s fingers twitched against his thigh. He felt his demonic aura hum faintly, that familiar violet haze that danced at the edge of his skin. Pride was his nature, the elegance of Lust intertwined with the command of royal blood, but underneath, there was still the scar of that boy who had lost everything.

He exhaled softly, turning his gaze back to Lilith. She was watching him, as if she could see through him, through his mask of calm and beauty. Her knowing smile didn’t falter, but her eyes softened for the briefest second.

“You’re thinking of them again, aren’t you?” she asked quietly.

Xander didn’t answer at first. His lips parted, then closed again. Finally, he said, “I thought killing him would fix it. I thought it would feel… good.”

Lilith tilted her head, violet dreadlocks cascading over her shoulder. “Vengeance rarely fills the heart, my love. It only reminds it that it once cared.”

He gave a bitter smile. “I don’t care anymore.”

“Oh, you do,” she said, almost teasingly, but her tone held something maternal and knowing. “That’s what makes you stronger, Xander. You’re not just your father’s son, you’re mine. And I never raised a hollow prince.”

Her words struck deeper than he wanted to admit. Pride flared again, his aura shimmering faintly. “I’ll prove it,” he said at last, his voice low and certain. “When Wrath awakens, when the others rise… I’ll make sure Father acknowledges me first.”

Lilith smiled, pleased, that dark, queenly smile that could bend worlds. “That’s my boy.”

And in that moment, surrounded by the echo of ancient luxury and the faint hum of infernal power, Xander Asmodeus Beaumains, Lust incarnate, adopted son of the Demon Emperor, sat between the pride of his new bloodline and the ghosts of his old one, vowing to rise above them all.

…

Lilith’s gaze turned distant, her smirk fading into something more thoughtful, sharp, calculating. The flickering candlelight caught the edges of her horns as her aura shifted subtly, the air in the chamber growing heavier.

Xander noticed the change immediately. “What is it?” he asked, his tone cautious.

Lilith’s crimson eyes shimmered with a faint violet hue as she closed them for a brief moment, letting her senses extend beyond the lavish walls of her palace. Her throne pulsed faintly behind her, an ancient relic forged from the bones of Archfiends and obsidian stone, its runes lighting up like veins of molten gold.

Then, she smiled. Slowly.

“Oh… it seems one of our missing pieces has revealed himself,” she murmured, her voice like honey poured over flame.

Xander arched a brow. “Who?”

“Gluttony.”

His eyes widened slightly. “Gluttony? Here? In Helheim?”

Lilith nodded, her tone both amused and intrigued. “Mhm. Quite close, actually. I can feel him, faint, flickering, but unmistakable. That endless hunger in his essence is impossible to miss. But…” She trailed off, her smile turning faintly disappointed. “He’s far too young.”

Xander leaned forward, elbows on his knees. “Young?”

“Barely awakened,” she replied, her fingers tracing lazy circles in the air, leaving faint trails of purple flame. “A child born with the seed of Gluttony but no understanding of what he carries. His aura is unstable, wild, ravenous, and confused. He devours without reason, driven by instinct rather than power.”

Her tone softened slightly, though it carried the weight of a queen and a mother alike. “In my realm, that kind of hunger attracts attention. If he continues unchecked, the lesser demons will either worship him… or tear him apart out of fear.”

Xander frowned. “Then we should bring him in before someone else does. If Wrath awakens and Sloth completes her transformation, we’ll need all seven aligned.”

Lilith chuckled lightly, her gaze turning toward the tall arched window behind her. Through it, the eternal skies of Helheim churned, violet storms twisting with crimson lightning, casting eerie beauty over her domain. “Of course we will. But Gluttony is… delicate. He must be guided, not dominated. He’s not like you or your brother; his sin consumes him from within. If we’re not careful, he could end up devouring himself before he ever reaches maturity.”

Xander’s expression darkened slightly, curiosity mixed with impatience. “So what’s your plan, Mother?”

Her smile returned, serene and dangerous. “I’ll go to him myself. He’s on the southern fringe, near the Chasms of Uruhl. A nest of wraith-beasts and carrion fiends. Fitting, isn’t it?”

She rose from her seat, the movement fluid and regal, her power rippling faintly across the chamber. Her horns glowed briefly as she adjusted the sash around her blouse. “You’ll stay here, Xander. Guard Helheim’s core. If your brother awakens early, we’ll need to be ready.”

He scowled lightly. “You’re going alone?”

Lilith gave him a sidelong glance, smirking. “Please, my dear. I am Helheim. No one here would dare lay a finger on me.”

Her words were not arrogant, they were truth. The very ground trembled in subtle acknowledgment, the walls whispering faint echoes of her power.

Xander leaned back, pride and concern wrestling behind his eyes. “Then bring him back quickly. The sooner he learns, the stronger our circle becomes.”

Lilith turned toward the doors, her laughter echoing once more, smooth, confident, and intoxicating. “Oh, I’ll bring him back, my love. But whether he comes willingly…” She paused at the threshold, her gaze shifting to the storm outside, her smile darkening. “…that’s another story entirely.”

And with that, the Empress of Helheim vanished in a shimmer of violet flame, her laughter fading into the thunderous hum of her dominion, where Gluttony awaited, unaware that the mother of demons was already on her way.
