Capítulo 1758: Opening the Boxes (Part 2)

A/N: Thanks sooo much for the support! There’s an inflow of GT (many of which are bulk) and they’re really helping out so much! Love you guys! I check the notifications very often (tho I can’t reply to comments as often). They all make me inspired lol. Do you see my fingers typing fast? Yeah, that’s on you.

…

___

[Aethra Storage (B): Stores Specific Magic of elementalists and other races and allows the user to temporarily use the same magic.

Limitations: Length of use depending on intensity of usage. Maximum of 150 aethra per use. Can contain multiple elements, but will be filled up by batch. Each batch must be consumed by the equipment in one time; once spent, regeneration time is one week.]

“!!”

“What does it mean?” she asked, though it was more of disbelief rather than incomprehension.

If she understood it right, then the holder could temporarily store other people’s elements and use other people’s powers with them.

Althea immediately sent an aether letter to her master, asking her how much force an aethra was.

It was then that they found out that it was the unit of measurement referring to elementalist powers. On average, a level 10 elementalist doing his best would give out 10 aethra accumulated points. It increased by folds every level up, especially every 10 levels.

The reason why they hadn’t heard of it before this was that it simply wasn’t a common term.

The measuring tools for them were relatively rare, and there wasn’t much use for them except for some specific assessments of individual power. Rather, it measured rare elementalists’ power, so there was less use for it to the great majority of the population.

Even in cities where elementalist were relatively common, it wasn’t used much, let alone anywhere else.

Anyway, the couple, wearing outdoor robes, headed out to the garden to experiment on it.

From their understanding, they had to use the 150 aethra to fill up the thing at one time if they wanted to maximize it. They could put less, of course, but it seemed like after the first absorption, it’d turn to ‘release’ mode, so it wouldn’t store anymore until it was spent. And then there was a week’s cooldown before it could absorb anything again.

So this was approximately 15 level 10s consuming all they had, which should be sufficient with just Garan.

“I can see an interface,” he told her, explaining the process to her. Next, he concentrated his powers as per instructions, specifically adding his ice elements as well as his metal elements.

The crystal glowed beautifully. It was enough to light up a room. Fortunately, they lived in a detached housing neighborhood, so they didn’t bother anyone.

Garan proceeded on inputting his power for about a minute—

[Aethra Storage is Full]

“…”

Should she be disappointed that that ended too quickly, or proud of her husband’s strength?

Anyway, she then held on to the tool, and they went to an area outside the territory to try it out.

She didn’t want to activate it at first. What if they needed it within a week? But Garan insisted she practiced. After all, if she used it in an emergency but couldn’t control it, what if it harmed her instead?

Garan knew the intensity of the energy he placed there. Just the thought of his wife getting harmed— especially with his power— made his blood turn cold. He might even hate his own ability if that happened.

Althea understood her husband and had an idea about what was going on in his head, so she agreed.

Standing in front of the empty grassland, she placed a bit of control on the tool.

Like what happened with Garan, an interface also appeared in front of her. This time, it was a vertical gauge of sorts, representing how filled up it was.

There were also different colors representing the elements. 90% it was ice, then 10% was metal.

She nodded, feeling the energy enter her palms. When she inputted aether, it returned something to her, something cold due to ice and also warm because she knew whose it was.

She waved her hand, and a sharp ice stabbed from the ground, extending to more than a meter. This was followed by a long metallic spike.

Like this, she felt the use of ice and metal magic for the first time.

In order to refill this again in a week, she had to consume everything, and that was what she did. Since this was a practice session, Althea still knew how to learn as much as she could with the finite energy she was given.

She created spikes, made them float, and let them stab random rocks. At first, she was just focused on forming the ice or the metal, without much care for its form.

When she could summon the elements with relative ease, she then shifted to do other things with them.

She practiced the sizes, the sharpness, and the speed at which to control them. She struggled at first, particularly when she was condensing them to smaller, but sharper, projectiles, but she managed to do so in the end.

To further sharpen her control, she even tried to make intricate things. First, it was a snowman, then a metallic sphere (which wasn’t perfect, but spherical enough), then she moved on to ice birds, and then a perfect sphere with some patterns.

Because she had a closer visualization of what was happening with the elements, she was able to grasp such control in such a short amount of time. If anyone else used this tool, it was likely they would be stuck on the first stage—simple summoning and simplified controls.

After a while, there was still a fraction of power left. She realized that there was a lot more energy than she thought. Because he filled it up in a minute, she didn’t think she could use it for so long.

Garan stood at the side, watching her splurging the power—his power—and practicing to her heart’s content. Smiling, he felt satisfied and proud.

There was also something particularly intimate about this. The power that had been in his body was now flowing through his wife, and crawling into her veins and pores.

He felt his body heating up a bit at the thought.

Then, he narrowed his eyes.

…should he forbid her from using other people’s powers?

Before he could enter that overly possessive line of thought, Althea skipped to his direction and embraced him.

“Do you like it?” he asked, wiping the beads of sweat on her forehead. She chuckled, rubbing her face on his chest.

“Only because it’s yours.”

Thankies for readddinggg
