Capítulo 1726: Reunions And Punches
Another one of the latest things Alterra was known for was the cure for the powder addiction.
The materials were grown in the farm and were relatively easy to make for pharmacists, and they also gave discounts to associated territories.
In the past weeks, it was said that nearly half of the affected in the associated territories had been treated. The nobles and some mercenaries knew first-hand how the powders affected judgment and had become advocates for the medicine in their respective territories, as well.
Some had weaker relatives more deeply affected, too, to the point that some of them had to be tied up in rooms to be detained. For those people, the cure was an elfsent.
It also helped that both Flaret and Voumi were extremely affected by this, so when people checked on them and found out how the pandemic affected everything, they received clearer views of its effects and the power of the treatments.
From this, people knew that Alterra’s influence had expanded so much in such a short time that people felt imbalanced.
What they had yet to truly comprehend, as of now, was that the entire Terran Region had become completely unified with this victory, with various allies and subsidiaries, including Bright and Belluga, taking down the remaining uncooperative Terran villages North in the past few weeks.
There must be several tens—if not hundreds—of thousands of Terrans already lost to North aborigine territories now, and they hoped to stop those losses as soon as possible, and everyone cooperated with an understanding of this.
What was the most amazing, though, was that the unification was more than just the Terran territories, but also connected to the territories outside of it.
After all, they were now surrounded by Towns that were also under or closely allied with Alterra. There was Ferrol in the South, Basset in the East, Flaret in the North, and—finally—Voumi in the East.
This created an expanded region of tightly knit territories that would amaze anyone aware of it. Most Cities might have broader territories than this, but did they have such intimate connections with the villages in between?
That was only Alterra, and that was something never before seen in this world’s history.
…
With the unification of the region, travel across the area had also become much easier, safer, and more convenient.
Alterra also began to expand its road networks as well, and started supporting other territories from doing the same. It was a long work-in-progress, but it was estimated to expand to a few more territories within the following weeks.
This also meant there were more and more reunions happening all over.
First, there was Gian and Samantha. Gian had now been pardoned from his initial betrayal by virtue of saving so many people, including a great assist in the Flaret war.
As for the Oath he had to take after the Fargo-Alterra war, it was simply overwritten. As long as the parties between the oaths agreed to it, this was allowed. Circumstances change, after all.
Gian was able to gain his citizenship in Alterra by virtue of his massive contribution points, and then the guards told him exactly where to find his sister.
His feet moved so quickly that he practically disappeared from sight.
Samantha, at the time, was in the large garden outside the orphanage when he saw her. She was sitting under the shadows of a large tree with a wide canopy, along with several kids, who were sitting in front of her.
It seemed like she was doing a storytelling session, and the children were all closely listening to her stories.
She was passionately acting the scenes too, which elicited chuckles and laughter among the little crowd.
“And the little goblins hid behind the sturdy stone wall they created. This time, the bad wind elementalist shouldn’t be able to take it down like their straw house!
“The bad wind elementalist saw the house and mocked them for their continuous attempts to rebuild their house. It was going down anyway. Why do they keep trying? Just give him the land! He says.”
“He went huff…and puff…and gathered energy,” She then made herself look bigger by stretching her arms. And then made the gesture as if she was going to blow strong winds—
—but froze midway the moment she met eyes with him.
Gian saw his sister’s awkward pause and awkwardly raised a hand to wave at her.
In front of the kids, she burst into tears and ran to him.
Gian’s eyes teared up and he stretched his arms, ready to catch her—
SMACK!
Rather than a hug, he received a loud slap on the face and a punch to the gut instead.
“…”
It was something a couple of soldiers watched with popcorn and amused smiles on their faces. “Hit him more! He deserves it,” they cheered, and Gian could only roll his eyes and passively accept the hits.
Well, if it would make his sister feel even the littlest bit better, he was willing to bleed.
Gian purchased residences for both of them, bought a house for them to live in using his massive amount of contribution points and gold from winning the token (since the person who received the token would receive a portion of the selling price). And there was still a lot left to spend.
If he showed her all that later, would she calm down?
Fortunately, there was a mid-rise unit near the orphanage that had been put on the market. Someone had a buy-and-sell company, and he bought it for a much larger amount compared to how the other party bought it, but it was still a value-for-money purchase, all things considered.
It was also fully furnished and designed well, and they could move in as soon as she stopped hitting him.
…
Eventually, the girl got tired, and her hands were sore, and Gian quietly just hugged her before guiding her to their new house.
Samantha was grumbling the whole way, her eyes red with tears and fists still a bit sore from all the punching, but then she shut up when she saw the small mountain of chocolate on the coffee table.
She sniffled.
Fine, she mumbled. She’d reluctantly forgive him.
Gian’s eyes burned with held-back tears. He patted her head.
“I will never leave you alone again.”
She punched his gut again. “PSH! How will I get married, then?”
He smiled. “Well, my future niece/nephew will have a rich uncle.”
