Chapter 1530: Baby’s Diets

Back in the Gaea Villas, sweet little voices echoed in the living room.

“Mamaaaa! Meabow Hungwy!!” a milky voice yelled, followed by the sound of an empty milk bottle rolling down the carpet.

Althea looked at her baby boy, who was now trying to stand up and balance on her thigh so he could reach her shoulder or her face or whatever he could reach—as if that’d get him what he wanted.

It also had to be noted that Meatball was really putting his nickname to justice. How many pounds did he gain over the past few weeks?!

In contrast, Little Pepper was sitting snugly on her other thigh, a similar milk bottle still half full. She looked cute, well-behaved, and graceful.

Speaking of that, she had been trying to feed herself for a while and had made some successes. However, she obviously disliked the mess, so they still end up feeding her for the most part.

Anyway, she gently patted Meatball’s diapered bum. “No, you already ate more than enough today.”

“Maamaaaa…. Hungweee…” he mumbled, cheeks a bit puffed, and eyes turning increasingly red—obviously about to cry.

She pursed her lips, wondering what to do.

She wasn’t lying to him. Not even mentioning the several bottles more than normal he consumed, he also ate quite a few bowls of Mashed food. The babies had also started eating some steamed vegetables and some calories, like pasta and protein, like shredded meat.

It was like the babies discovered a whole new world then and now, they found it difficult to get them to stop eating—especially meatball.

She looked into his son’s teary eyes and her heart softened, wondering if she could formulate a delicious diet that wouldn’t make him so fat. If this went on, he’d be very overweight by the time he got to 2 years old.

It was around this time that a pair of hands found Meatball’s armpits and lifted him up into his arms.

“Ah, my nephew, hungry again?!” Ansel said as he placed the baby on his lap. He then gently poked the baby boy’s plump stomach, smirking in amusement.

The ticklish baby giggled and Ansel didn’t stop. “You’re so chonky,” he said, also squeezing the baby’s hands. “What if monsters come to eat you!?”

It was meant to scare the baby boy but it made him brighten instead. “Fwoo?”

“…”

Food.

Apparently, all he got from Ansel’s sentence was ‘eat’ which equated to (his) food.

They had no idea this would be foreshadowing in the not-too distant future, where the child would literally be joining hunting parties to add more meat to his menu!

In the end, they gave way but only a bit. For example, just mashed fruits like banana, peaches, and berries and also some steamed veggies.

Ansel laughed when he watched the babies gobble up their food so adorably. “Well, at least our farms are producing a lot—otherwise your babies might empty us!”

…

Garan arrived just in time for dinner and he immediately took over feeding the babies, unaware that this was their nth meal for the day.

After what felt like the hundredth spoon to Meatball’s mouth, Althea couldn’t help but shake her head. “Sigh…”

This made Garan pause to look at her. “What’s wrong, wife?”

“I’m thinking of what diet plan to do for Meatball,” she said. “But I’m afraid I don’t have enough data on his metabolic rate to make something good.”

If there was something that needed planning, Althea had the habit of just going above and beyond. This meant that for a baby’s diet plan, she may or may not be overthinking, but she was definitely aiming to make the best it could be.

Although things felt stable now, it was still a fact that they still didn’t know so much about the children. Not to mention, she already asked Cynthia, and the consumption of normal babies—even the very chubby ones—was only a fraction of Pepper’s, let alone Meatball’s.

She worried that their diet and energy requirements were different from normal babies. In which case, wouldn’t she be depriving them of the proper diet?

“Let’s just feed him whatever, as long as they are not too unhealthy. We can send him to the barracks when he’s old enough,” he said. “All that food wouldn’t matter then…”

“…”

They all looked at the chonky baby boy who was still munching on something.

Should they be relieved or should they just pity him?

…

Night arrived and it was finally time for bed. The babies, as usual, were fussy everywhere despite their activities earlier that day.

The kids had started to become more and more curious about the world and it also meant they became increasingly more difficult to put to bed. After all, their minds were so active. Their bodies would not be too different.

At some point, they started telling them different bedtime stories.

According to Doctor Cynthia, teachers, and many other child experts, bedtime stories at this age should be very very simple, full of repetition and rhythm, as well as colorful presentation.

For one, it should feature some animals they were or would be familiar with in the future. They should also be taught early on what could be harmful or not, even if the presentation was different.

For example, broat and gugu birds were presented as chickens and cows, while the beasts would be presented as monsters to avoid or kill.

It could also include activities that they’d connect with. This way, their visualization would also be backed with practice, rather than them becoming too wishy-washy.

The family snuggled on the bed. Althea lay on Garan’s wide shoulders, while the two babies rested on their stomachs.

Pepper was quite comfortable on her mother’s soft and flat stomach, while Meatball was squirming a lot on his father’s hard abs.

He would try to roll towards Althea, but would be held back by his father with a single palm. The baby would then be placed back to the man’s very… defined stomach.

“Wuuu…”

Garan gave him a blank look, poking his plump bum.

“You’re fleshy enough,” he said. “That should be enough of a cushion.”
