Chapter 1522: Otto and Misha (Part 1)

Penny and the others looked at Otto. Seeing his interest in the pool, they smiled, sat on the free spaces of his recliner, and asked if he wanted to take a dip too.

They flinched, however, when they turned and saw him with a somber expression. “Otto?”

Otto’s blue eyes had been tracing over Misha’s figure, which would occasionally emerge from the water. Each time, his breath hitched.

Then he’d see the head of the other man, always following closely behind Misha, and Otto’s breath hitched for a different reason altogether.

“Otto?” Penny and her friend asked again, a bit more concerned this time.

Otto barely heard them as he watched Misha swim around, spending a bit more time underwater than before, but he was still closely followed by Hubert. They seemed to have entered a race of sorts and stopped somewhere on the other end.

When they emerged, Misha looked impressed at the other man, and they started talking as they were immersed in the water, the water clinging to their bodies, and he wondered if they could feel each other’s body heat as well.

They were certainly standing close enough—

“I… I feel a little hot,” Otto said after a pause, standing up and jumping down the pool as well. In his mind, he was just heading there to go to Misha, and it would be like taking a bath.

It was just that… he stepped on the deep end of the pool. The water was above his head and, like a sack of potatoes, he just… sank. Straight down.

“…”

Unlike Terrans, who had pools and beaches back home, the aborigines weren’t exposed to deep water.

‘Going to the beach’ was not even an option here. Not only was it so far away that most commoners didn’t even know a sea existed, but there were beasts in there, too. There was no such thing as leisure swimming in the seas.

Rivers and lakes were deemed to be extremely valuable resources, too. It was a source of water, and it felt unnatural to swim for leisure. Not to mention, most lakes and rivers outside territories would often be surrounded by monsters.

Anyway, most aborigines naturally did not know how to swim.

Even Oslo, who had been here practically during Alterra’s establishment, was not proficient. Although he had been here for several months, he didn’t spend that time swimming in deep pools, right?

This was even truer with Otto, who had not been there for a few months.

And so…Otto may or may not have drowned a bit. Okay, he was drowning.

He gasped when water entered his nose, and he immediately felt imbalanced.

Gurgle, gurgle

Bubbles exploded around him as he moved, and he moved his arm to lift himself up. His level was high, so his flailing caused a small wave rippling across the entire pool.

Fortunately, two arms grabbed each arm and lifted him up before things could get worse. He almost flung them off by instinct—which might’ve sent the person to the other building—but fortunately, he stopped himself in time, particularly when he felt one of the arms and recognized the familiar softness.

The next thing he knew, he was at the edge, coughing out water.

“Sir Otto!” Hubert said. “Are you okay?”

“A-Ah…”

His peripheral vision saw that the other hand—soft hands on his arms—was Misha’s. He didn’t dare look at her to see what kind of teasing look she had on her face.

Her soft hand rubbed his bare skin, heating it up even more. He was embarrassed as heck and this wasn’t helping.

Inexplicably, the smoothness he was so proud of cracked.

He lifted his body off the pool, combing his damn hair back, making women watch the movements of his muscles. Unfortunately for him, Misha went ahead and swam to the other side of the pool with Hubert following closely behind her.

Towel wrapped around him, and the women looked at him in concern.

“I’m alright,” he said, coughing a bit. “I’ll stay here for a bit longer,” he said, staring at the pool.

“Would you like us to teach you? How to swim?”

Otto shook his head, an idea coming to his mind. “I already have a teacher.”

He stood up and went to the other edge of the pool where Misha was talking with Hubert.

At this, the girls he left behind couldn’t help but look at each other.

“Well, Sir Otto isn’t like what we hear.”

They were experienced women. How could they not see what was happening?

They giggled, looking at how unexpectedly clumsy he was being right now.

“It seems like his heart is finally captured.”

…

On the other side of the pool, Otto kneeled down at the edge, eyes fixed on the beautiful hazel-eyed woman.

“Teach me,” he said. “You said you owe me, right?”

Misha blinked. She thought he’d have left in embarrassment by now.

“Jump down.”

“…”

Misha tried to hold back a chuckle at this big, handsome, muscular man staring at the water as if it were a great enemy.

She extended her hand. “It’s shallow on this spot. Your feet would touch the floor.

“…”

Otto cleared his throat and jumped down, purposely ignoring other people’s looks, which would no doubt just make him feel embarrassed.

“I’ll help too,” Hubert— a dense, passionate idiot—offered, making Otto glare at him.

Sadly, even with the massive level difference, Otto-in-water was a lot less threatening, so Hubert’s sparkling ‘I want to help, too’ face was still there.

Misha looked at this and could tell what he was thinking. She couldn’t help but want to tease him.

She grabbed Otto’s hand, which made the man flinch, but then she put it on Hubert’s, making them hold hands.

“…”

“Go, teach,” she said. “I’ll watch from the side.”

She lifted herself up on the edge of the pool, looking gorgeous as ever, and sat down at the edge with her legs crossed.

She chuckled when she saw the men gape at her. “Good luck~”

kek. Ganbatte, Otto!
