Absolute Cheater - Chapter 514
Capítulo 514: Bionics XVII
A single, straight dash—almost silent.
Asher stepped in front and blocked the first claw with his forearm. The impact felt like being hit by a battering ram, pushing him back several meters.
He dug his heel into the floor and finally stopped sliding.
The chimera didn’t chase.
It simply reset its stance, watching.
Asher shook out his arm.
“Yeah. Stronger.”
The Knight charged in this time, sword raised. But the chimera stepped aside, turning its head just slightly—then slammed its elbow down on the flat of the sword, redirecting the strike like it understood weapon angles.
The Knight stumbled from the force.
The chimera used the opening.
It swept its tail low, hitting the Knight’s legs and knocking it sideways. Then it followed with a downward claw aim straight for the Knight’s head.
Asher blurred forward and caught the chimera’s arm inches before impact, both hands pushing against the massive claw.
The chimera’s strength pressed down hard, its claws grinding closer and closer to the Knight’s helmet.
Asher gritted his teeth and shoved upward with all his weight.
The chimera slid back a few steps, stopping itself with a deep scratch on the floor.
Asher helped the Knight up.
“This one won’t show openings,” Asher said. “We’ll have to make them.”
The chimera tilted its head slightly.
Then its violet flames expanded—slow, controlled, and dangerous.
Asher exhaled.
“Alright then.”
He lowered his stance.
“Let’s break the last one.”
The chimera lowered itself even more, claws spread, tail steady behind it. It wasn’t rushing. It was waiting for either of them to move first.
Asher didn’t give it that chance.
He dashed in, cutting the distance quickly. The chimera reacted instantly. Its arm shot forward in a straight punch instead of a wild swipe. Asher blocked with both arms, the force pushing him back a step—but he stayed standing.
The Knight came in from the chimera’s right side. It swung its sword at the chimera’s ribs, aiming for a weak spot. The chimera twisted its torso and stopped the blade with its forearm armor. Sparks flew from the impact.
Before the Knight could recover, the chimera raised its knee and struck the Knight in the chest, sending it skidding back again.
Asher took that moment to attack. He stepped in tight and punched the chimera’s side. The hit made the chimera shift its stance slightly, but the armor didn’t crack. The creature reacted immediately, turning and swinging its tail in a heavy arc.
Asher jumped back just in time. The tail smashed the floor where he had been standing, breaking the stone.
The chimera didn’t scream or roar. It stayed calm, focused, its movements precise.
Asher narrowed his eyes.
“Fine. If you won’t give an opening… I’ll force one.”
He rushed in again. This time he changed direction halfway through, aiming low. He slid across the floor and kicked the chimera’s ankle from the side. The armor didn’t break, but the chimera’s stance shook.
The Knight saw it and moved in fast.
It raised its sword and aimed for the chimera’s upper back. The chimera tried to dodge, but its balance was off for half a second—just enough.
The Knight’s sword hit the shoulder plate hard, creating the first small crack.
The chimera reacted instantly.
It slammed its elbow backward, hitting the Knight and knocking it away. Then it spun around, its tail whipping toward Asher again.
Asher caught the tail with both arms this time. The force pushed him back several meters, his boots carving lines in the floor, but he held firm.
The chimera tried to yank its tail free, but Asher didn’t let go. He pulled hard and dragged the creature forward, forcing its weight off-center.
The Knight returned and slashed at the crack on the chimera’s shoulder.
The blade hit the same spot twice in a row.
The crack deepened.
The chimera snapped its head toward the Knight and fired a sudden beam of violet-blue energy. The Knight raised its sword and blocked, but the blast still knocked it backward, sliding across the ground.
Asher didn’t let the chimera reset.
He rushed in again and punched the cracked shoulder plate with all his force.
This time the armor split slightly, and a small line of glowing energy leaked out.
The chimera finally reacted with anger. It roared—a deep, shaking sound—and swung both arms at Asher in fast, heavy strikes.
Asher dodged left, then right, slipping under the claws. But the chimera’s speed kept increasing. One swipe grazed his side, pushing him off balance.
The creature followed with a full-force punch to his chest.
Asher blocked, but the hit sent him crashing into a fallen pillar. Dust shook loose from the impact.
He stood up slowly, breathing harder now.
“Good,” he said quietly. “Keep coming.”
The chimera lowered itself again, fire burning hotter, cracks glowing brighter.
The Knight stepped beside Asher once more, blade steady.
The chimera tensed.
The chimera launched forward.
It didn’t sprint this time—it exploded off the ground. One moment it was crouched, the next it was already halfway across the room, claws aimed straight for Asher.
Asher stepped in to meet it. He blocked the first claw with his forearm, then twisted his body and redirected the second strike past his ribs. The chimera didn’t stop; it kept attacking with rapid, controlled hits, trying to overwhelm him with speed and pressure.
Asher matched its movements, blocking, slipping, and parrying each strike by centimeters. Sparks flew every time claw met forearm.
The Knight jumped in and swung for the cracked shoulder again. The chimera turned sharply and caught the Knight’s blade between two plates of armor. It twisted its body and threw the Knight away like it weighed nothing.
Asher moved fast. He aimed a punch at the same shoulder crack, but the chimera leaned back and countered with a palm strike to his chest. The hit pushed Asher several meters across the floor.
Asher didn’t fall. He slid, steadied himself, and charged again.
The chimera tried to intercept him with a tail swing. Asher ducked under it and closed the distance. He punched the crack again, widening it. More energy leaked out.
The chimera hissed in pain and slammed both hands together, trying to crush Asher between them. Asher rolled out of the way and came up behind the creature.
The Knight regrouped and sprinted in.
Asher pointed. “Hit the shoulder. Don’t stop.”
